Stay off the ground in those areas unless you are into some Steve Irwin/Mick Dodge naturalist survival thing. In certain areas, you should always be on a mount, a saber, wolf, raptor or souped up phiomia (2000 health / 600+ melee), or Parasaur can keep the adventure fun for you when in those areas - especially a souped up parasaur since they don't slow down in water, have a great carry, etc.
