Araneo taming question
"The Araneo will not be tameable if it is trying to attack another creature or is feeding on a corpse, so you must remove any such distractions from the area, or lure the Araneo to a more secluded area."

Do walls count as creatures or corpses?

Can I just shove them in my taming pen and feed them that way with bug repellant on?

Alright, having spent 2 repellants I was only able to feed it once and it ended up dying for simply no reason.

It's hp was slowly dropping.

Why was it's hp dropping......

I've heard trapping it in walls can be tricky because the slightest bit of agro causes the Spider to want to attack the walls. This leaves it in a constant state of aggression, meaning it won't let you shove food in its face.

I need to give it more time myself when I'm next on. I sorely want a Spider because I have a feeling they'll be thrown back into their regular place in the caves after Halloween is over.
Wildcard have confirmed they will continue to be tameable afterwards but didn't say if they would still spawn surface side. Good luck taming one in a cave with all the other creatures there, and good luck getting it back out if you do!

On a side note, anyone found a saddle for one yet? If so, what source did you get it from?

Thats a bug that was there with the ape and meso. Not sure why they don't think to check this since it's happened with all the latest passive tames.

Ahhhh! Didn't know that and to be honest, I didn't even think to look. I was pretty sure it mentioned being a "chance drop" from one of the supply drops. Wonder where I go that impression.

Thanks for the tip :)

yea sometimes the passive tames bugs out and wont eat, the spiders and bats will agroe on your tamed dinos so keep them far away.

Yes, it happen to me with gigantopithecus (in pen) and with mesopithecus (on a beach).

I think it's a bug, because it is almost impossible to tame one of these without scaring them.

Apparently the meso is supposed to become scared and lose hp, and in doing this you are literally "scaring it to death" :P

So it's technically not possible to tame one or do I have to try until I get sick of farming for repellant?

Haven't had it attack any bits of my base, it did jump off the roof of my place but it just wandered around, only aggro'd on birds but after moving them it was stable.

Ended up dying though.

It was smart enough to not attack my Rex.
