Why does everyone love I5's?

You have almost the exact same specs as me, apart from the fact that I have an 8 core I7...

I can't really suggest much, as I don't have this problem... Or have ever seen it...

Check you graphics settings -- you have the "Sky Quality" turned down? I know I have that slider all the way left because it gets me higher FPS, and that's more important to me than it being "all pretty" when I look up, lol, but to each his own...but that COULD be one thing you could check...would be first thing I checked if I were you...

Actually, this man may be right! I have my sky quality slightly turned up.

I dont love the i5, its just a the part i used in 2013 to build the pc ;)

ooh and i got sky quality all the way to the right, isnt that all maxed out? first i had it all the way left and had the same result.

That's maxed.... But still the same result?

I prefer the I7, as an IT professional, it's a joy to work with! And the 8 cores don't exactly hurt. ;)

Its because you are forcing DX10. I had the same issue. Remove the -d3d10 from your Ark startup parameters within Steam. You will get a frame drop, but tweaking your settings a little further should put it somewhere in the same region
Fresonis Oct 30, 2015 @ 5:57am
oke, going to test it out. i let you know if it works

Ok. If that doesn't work, try removing -sm4 also. I removed them both at once when I did it
Fresonis Oct 30, 2015 @ 6:06am
only removing the -d3d10 doesnt work. i try the other now also

what other parameters do you have?

A friend also pointed out that the -nomansky parameter is the equivilent of turning the sky quality slider all the way down.

Also, have you ever manually tweaked any of the games .ini files?

it works now without the -sm4. Can i now also try to do -d3d10 back? dont know what i precisely does ingame tho. its just that someone pointed it out to me to get better fps.

the start up parameters i had were: -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -sm4 -d3d10

now its only: -USEALLAVAILABLECORES

i never tweaked any game files.

Ok. you can try it if you want. I thought it was that that was causing the issue so I am not sure. Let me know. Forcing DX10 does get you a little more FPS but you are removing some graphics that make the game look pretty.

What processor do you have? I read that the USEALLAVAILABLECORES parameter can cause FPS issues and stutter if your PC can already use all cores. I have removed the command to check and I see no loss or gain in FPS.

Ok. Just checked and even having one of the parameters removes the moon for me. (d3d10, sm4, nomansky).

You just have to decide whether or not you want the blood moon or want an extra 20 fps and brighter nights
Fresonis Oct 30, 2015 @ 6:30am
my first message say what processor i use ;)

i use a intel i5 3570

now i dont know what to do hahah, if some say it helps gaining fps others say different. hard to follow it all then.
Fresonis Oct 30, 2015 @ 6:31am
so you use d3d10, sm4 and nomansky at the moment?
