Onyc impoosible to tame in single player spends whole time agroed at walls or your bird or you no matter how far you fly away or even exiting the game it does not work!

Had to forcetame the black with purple wings one I had in a pen as it was just impossible to do! Didn't get anything unlocked cause of it but still it seems like these things are only meant to be possible to tame if you have someone else there taking the agro whilst you feed it!

Seems like single players wernt thought of again and I was so looking forward to getting an army of onyc and spiders!

Leave aggro range, use bug repellant and go back near it. It should be passive long enough for you to feed it.

You need bug repelent to tame them. I think at least.

Have done both of those things didn't work I even tried flying accross two landmasses between rivers! Didn't work don't know what is going on but doing that and using bug repellant and even leaving the game doesnt work :( In teh end I had to just forcetame my 120 bat!

How is the cage constructed?

Full walls, or can it see through them?

Did you make it on the back of a quetzal?

Full walls with trapdoor entrances underneath and no I lured it back to my base and into the walls! It had mostly full walls with ceilings and 2 hatchframes underneath and I then secuded it to one of those hatchframes!

I also have a 120 spider in taming but it seems to be easier to do! And its butt has fallen through teh floor lol :P feeding it spoiled meat as I read that is what it likes!

nearby dino's could be causing it to aggro, you should try making a cage for it away from your base.

Thanks will try doing teh cage away from my dinos I did wonder about that! Thanks for the suggestions! Got the spider aggroed now too and it wont stop guessing it is something about dino proximity with my base!

If you had used the dotame command, it would be the same as regularly taming it. It will even give you the dossier. It was how I got my Quetz in SP since I kept killing it with my scorpion even after eaiting 10 second intervals

Guess I shall try again in the future as moving the spider away from my dinos didn't help either should have kept doing it through the floor lol :P Oh well at least I have a spider and onyc now anyway :)

And thanks for the dotame comment appreciate it don't like doing it but it was impoosible to get those guys with single player!

Instead of using the "forcetame" cheat command...try "dotame" it makes the creature act as if you yourself actually tamed it.

Same with Stone Behemoth Gates. More and more, you have to cheat (or make significant INI changes) just to do the basics. It eventually starts to drain the fun out of it. This is both one of the best games I've ever played and the most unbalanced.
