Longinsh answer, the amount of time it takes to tame them even on a server with accelerated taming is spastically long. Factor in that taming progress resets randomly, like it used to on giganto/mesopithecus, and taming spiders is like winning the lottery, except the number draw randomly resets every so often, so even if you get 4 numbers, they could change at any time. Raw meat taming them is like taming a plesio on default taming multiplier with raw meat, the bar barely moves, and when you get 20% into the tame, thinking all is going well, it suddenly plummets to zero again.
