if you edit/convert videos, going with the best i7 you can afford would be the way to go.
Went from an older model i7 to this i5 and I have absolutely no regrets. Plus, this chip is very OC friendly so in the future if you feel like you're lagging in the performance department you can give yourself a hefty boost.
Also, cheap
TLDR: get a moderate dual or quad core, and push more budget towards your video card.
