Tribe Merging
I'm looking at merging my tribe with another, obviously this is not something we want to get wrong and end up losing stuff. Up-to-date information on the process is somewhat scarce, though I'm led to believe it's as simple as setting everything to tribe owned, then getting admins from both tribes, sending an invite to the other tribe, and then they select merge and we both become one big happy family, with all our buildings, dinos, and players merged into one tribe with the name of the tribe that sent the invite.

Is this correct?
Are there any hiccups we need to be careful of?
What to do if something goes wrong?

Also if someone knows of a good guide or video that demonstrates the process it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Small hiccup : all the joining tribes stuff could end up in another tribe. Quiet likely actually. If you wanna still risk it the joining tribe owner should select "join tribe" and not "merge tribe". This has not failed me yet (6times fine) while the other one went wrong like 4 out of 6 times. Good luck

The process is quite simple and safe. Start sending each and every one of your tibemates over to the other tribe (the main one) and once EVERYONE is either in the new tribe, or kicked, then you can merge and everything (dinos, structures, etc..) will transfer with you. The main thing to pay attention to is that there are absolutely no players left in your tribe when you merge! If there is even a single player left, they will become the new owner and you will lose everything (assuming they are inactive or just plain d@#ks. I have done several mergers without hiccup. I'm here to help if you have any questions. This all being said, the "join tribe" is also a well established option.

Personally I'd follow these steps.

1.) Set all dinos and structures to tribe owned (dinos to passive or neutral btw)
2.) Open your Tribe manager "L"
3.) Kick ALL players from tribe
4.) With you being the last player and owning everything, have the other tribe send you an invite to join tribe.
5.) Reinvite all your kicked teammates into the new empire!

Enjoy

Okay, so the other tribe is merging with us.
-They set everything to tribe owned so that nothing gets blasted by turrets while we're doing the merge.
-They (temporarily) kick their offline and inactive tribemates.
-We add their members to our tribe except for one, who will become the owner because they're the last person.

Everything in the other tribe now belongs to the last person, when we invite them, do they select join or merge?

Although I have used merge in the past to no ill effect, I'd select join just to be safe. I have had things go wrong on my ark that don't on others and vise versa...

Sounds like join would be the safer option anyway. Thank you all for your help!
