Thylaceo a prehistoric tiger?
Like the iron jaw thing (Sarco should have this right?). And since it attacks from the trees, are the sabretooths the pumas of ARK?

I meant the manner of hunting, of course it ain't a member of the cat family. Seems the devs use a lot of modern day animals as a resources for ideas.

Thylacoleo is more like a lion but was a marsupial. Its also believed to have the strongest bite of any mammal- living or extinct.

However the Thylacine and Thylacoleo BOTH lived in Australia

the other reason why the thylacine was probably not chosen over the thylacoleo is that it was only officially declared extinct in the 1960's

I am looking forward to this marsupial- maybe I will tame a whole bunch just because I do actually live in Australia and I am gonna show off Aussie pride. rofl

No...

The most well known species of sabertooth is Smilodon Fatalis. It was more like a jaguar/lion/bear hybrid and there's evidence to suggest it lived in groups like lions do. There was never, ever an animal called a sabertooth tiger.
