2. Yes, drops from the surface supply drops (hint hint) are pretty poor in general atm, I have acquired a Journeyman Assault rifle BP though, that was nice... I think it's alike a <1% chance to get a good item.
3. Alphas are hit and miss, kill a level 5 αRaptor end up with a MC crossbox... next kill a level 116 αRex and get nothing but prime meat... there is no method for them, you just kill what you see and hope to get something.
4. maybe...
Bull crap I've got Ascendant from Red Cave Supply crates, Ascendant Bronto Saddle Blueprint for example. They are in game and NO my server doesn't have supply crates (Beacons) moded in any way shape or form.
However, he asked for best method, not what the spawn rate is and/or where. Best method. Best chances would be north cave and red drops.
Alphas are good for MC loot but they're fairly limited, they really only drop tools, bows/xbows and all the armour below Flak and never Blueprints which is nice but its no Ascendant Rocket Launcher :P if you want to farm Alphas though don't bother with anything above Raptor as Carnos and Rexs rarely drop anything good.
The "NE-Cave" is the one with the Artifact Of The Devourer?
Cuz wiki says its the hardest one..
Maybe its insane to go alone in it - idk xD
Any advice before I go in, die and lose my "best" gear? @.@
There's other things that influence the quality of items that you get from loot crates and supply drops. If your server has upped the difficulty level at all then that's why you're so lucky.
You "can" get mastercraft items from supply drops, but it's so rare that it's not even worth trying for. One person on my server (EU PVE Official Server 122) has gotten a mastercraft item from a supply drop and sadly I've seen apprentice drops that are better. The mc item was a 59 AR rex saddle blue print ... I have an apprentice sarco saddle that's 60 AR from a cave drop lol.
You can farm mastercraft items from alphas, but the only items you'll commonly get are bows, crossbows, picks, hatchets and leather hide. If you're lucky you can find chitin armor, cloth armor, sickles, and guns too, but they are by far more rare.
The best place to farm mastercraft blueprints is the 2 north caves (and i believe the south east cave on the beach too). Mastercraft items are somewhat common and are of high quality. I much prefer the Dead Island Cave in the northeast since it can be done totally naked and if you want you can take a metal pick (for the metal node blocking the path) and get the artifact naked too.

Take a Ptera with you, fly it down into the cave until you reach the part where you have to dive under the water, leave the Ptera there, swim to the other side hop up onto the ground, put your Ptera on follow and jump back into the water, you Ptera should fly through to you, then you can easily fly down and grab the drop. To get the Ptera out repeat the same process on the other side but make sure the Ptera is flying and not landed.
It's actually the easiest one once you learn the jumps.
