and that alone makes it worth its absurd cost?
if you shoot someone twice or 3 times with a normal longneck rifle, they already destroy what ever piece they hit, thus they will be unarmored at that part, and negating the need to even penetrate through it.
You shoot them with a frick'n compound bow, and their life is in danger.
unless you live far off that area, then you still need to get it back and make the arrows in the fabricator.
i dont have the bow, but you do have to make the arrows in the fabricator, yes? the polymer wears off after 30 min.
There is no real difference between the longneck and the compound bow. Aside from the bow having more armor pen and the rifle having longer range.
Depends on what you need, and what you feel more comfortable with.
Using a 200% mvt speed ptera with weight spec, I fly to the snow biome, kill penguins, and bring back plenty of polymer.
It's considerably easier than making normal polymer. X_X
Does Organic Polymer lose spoil like food 1 at a time?
A 137% damage crossbow deals the same damage with stone arrows as a composite bow with metal arrows against unarmored targets.
And for PVP the composite bow is very strong against targets that move slowly. It is significantly harder to hit anything that moves in regard to arrow travel time compared to guns, and you also can find ~200% longnecks/shotguns that very quickly take care even of high armor parts.
Overall the composite bow is a cool weapon, but nothing justifies the costs of the metal arrows yet.
indeed. a bit of what i was worried about with the high cost. while armor penetration sounds fine and all, even something as menial as a nomal gun chews through armor and breaks it fast enough.
i dont feel like i even need armor penetration.
if you use the metal arrows, plus it does more damage with more melee
