The Ghille suit is amazing! :)
So I took the Ghille suit to the test today. Geared up to the teeth, I spent the afternoon crawling around Carno island. With a full set of Ghille and while prone, you are 90% less visible to enemies. I could almost crawl up their butts if I wanted to without being aggro'd. In case you guys wern't sure...

Crouching now reduces your visibility by 20%.
Prone by 40%
Full set of Ghille by 50%

Prone + Ghille by 90%.

So Prone + Ghille = Ultimate stealth. I havn't tried much crouching and proning in the environment without Ghille so I don't know how good that is. But yeah, Ghille suit is awesome.

Its nice to see some changes to AI even if it's not really AI changes, but more the suit or even posture effecting dino visibility. You won't get the same benfits while riding a dino though. It's possible you'll get some visibility reductuion while riding a dino against critters who don't normally attack your mount in the wild.

I walked right up to a raptor it didn't agro until I was a few feet away, wasn't crouched or prone just walking.

so it ADDS the percentages?
I would have thought it would be 50% for the ghillie, then prone is 40% of the remaining 50% = 70% Still really good, must try it.

I made 5 sets of it so I didn't waste the last of my organic Polymer.
Just need to get me another Rex Bone Helmet skin

Yes so Ghille Stacks (ADDS) with Crouch or Prone.

FYI you have always been able to sneak up behind Dino's, so not much of a test of the ghilli there.
Try coming up in front of them and see how well it works.

I have, I was prone crawling around with the ghillie suit with 2 Alphas running literally on top of me, several times. Didn't aggro once.

hahahaha
wait until the devs add the dino-senses and AI improvements.
many animals don't rely purely on vision to detect prey, Tyrannosaur for example is believed to have super-smell and very good eyes, ghillie suits wouldn't work.

Ghilie suit makes monkey tames so much easier:) i tamed a 112 meso without it running away once and i was crouching behind its but for the whole tame. It didn't run away once

It really depends on the predator. Argents are oblivious for some reason compared to most things on carno island. Rexs have the sight of an eagle. I've been on carno island as well, as I've taken to living solely on the island.

The Ghillie outfit is more impressive in the devourer cave then anything else though. Since swarms of bats seem to be deadlier then just about everything else in the game since rubber banding doesn't cripple them like it does most normal dinos. I've been able to use the outfit to get bat agro down big time. And I have even been using it to crawl inbetween the spiders at the very bottom of the cave. Which is undeniably useful if you are attempting to farm red loot boxes in the cave for MC blueprints.

buuuuuuut...what is the point of sneaking? its not like you get any sort of sneak attack bonus. also--dinos are melee anyways...so being CLOSER to them when/if they agro is...well worse off for you isnt it?

anyone have an actual REASON to sneak up on a dino?

EDIT: ok i can see teh little monkey thing as a bonus...and the cave bat thing makes sense.
