Health, stam, and weight are good levels. I got a parasaur with good swimming speed, not bad for transporting oil.

Leave it idle while you craft or tame near it, or attack bushes.

i want to use mine for weight/speed but you cant kill things to gain xp because thier atk is trash on most other animals besides dodo's dilos and things but those give like no xp? am i just supposed to pointlessly gather thatch with it so it levels faster?

i already have a level 68 trike for thier utilitys but trikes are super slow and takes alot longer to tame at high levels than parasaurs

Crafting things next to a dinosaur give it 0 xp unless a tribemate is sitting on it. OP plays in single player...

There are no ways to level your Parasaur other than farming bushes (which they are useless at) or killing things (which they are even more useless at) your best bet is to just forget about it and check it every few hours of gameplay to level it up.

The only good way I found to level them is to take a couple guard dinos and head to the swamp... they can harvest the bushes for flowers/plant x seeds. Otherwise just have a bunch of combat heavy dinos to assist and hunt on it.

well i just figured out crafting doesnt work at all. and i live very far away and only have a couple dinos id prob be wrecked in the swamp ill probably just let them level passivly just through time

I've got a Trike and 3 dilos that wreck the swamp when I go mining, I don't think it would be much of a problem to let a Para tag along. Just keep your whistles in order to keep them on a leash.

Trikes are hella tough, or at least mine is. Might just be the way I've got the stats distributed. I watched my lone trike demolish 3 boas, 4 pirahna, a dilo, and 2 frogs all at once. I was freaking out and she barely hit 75% HP when she came trotting back up to me. I swear that ol' gal has saved my neck so often it's made me forever a Trike fan. (didn't have my dilos with me that time, but every time since I bring my entire crew and they demolish all in their path that I've come across so far.)

Start taming an army of Dilos. Once you have them increase they HP and ATK. Keep your Parasaur with you when you're out and kill things with the Dilos. PASSIVE on Parasaur and ATTACK YOUR TARGET on Dilos. Walk up to a prey and hit them with a sling shot(or any range weapons if you dont want to get close) Your Parasaur will level up in no time, and so will you :) As a side note, you get good EXP killing the Bigfoot. Take advantage!

the problem is im on 8 diffaculty so 100+ dinos spawn frequantly and since there are so many spawns in the swamp its bad news for most dinos

Parasaur's pretty crap past early levels sadly. If you're dead set on leveling it up safely, them your only real option is wait for the passive exp to do the job.

Probably not what you're looking for, but carnos make good mounts. Stamina gives out a bit sooner, but they're faster, can actually kill things, and have decent weight.

Parasaurs are a great utility mount for scouting, long distance travel, taming expeditions. They can serve as low level pack mules.

With that said, the one thing they are not is combat.

Weight: no more then 300.
This will easy carry a few stacks of food for both you and the Parasaur, a few stacks of Narc, a campsite, some standing touches, some spark powder, some water containers, what ever gear you carry, with room for what ever you acquire along the way, all without any encumbrance.

Speed: 300.
This is a good speed, there are faster things out there but this is enough.

Stamina: 1,000.
With a speed of 300 1,000 stamina will get you quite a long ways before you need to rest.

HP: Every single point beyond these numbers.

Combat: If you are without any escorts, you just run.
At low levels 4-5 Dilos will be fine for staying along the beaches and a short ways inland.
Once you can tame Raptors, stick 3 on him for escorts and ditch the Dilos. This should be fine for adventuring inward.

As people have pointed out. there are other mounts that are better or worse depending on how you look at it.

But a Parasaur built like this with a few raptors for protection can serve quite well for some activities.
