A friend of mine swears by his pack of pachy's, hes got eight of them, for swarming a target then quickly whistling passive when the target flops over. I don't like this method, as it has a high tendency to kill the target whenever I try it.
For overall utility the frog is the best, with unriveled hit and run (or hop) abilities it can minimize damage to itself by creating a distance between itself and the target dino while waiting for the torpor poison to run its course.
Scorpions are a oldy but a goody still due to ease of taming and better saddle than the frog, as well as the ability to attack under water unlike the frog.
Theres no way to 'add more torpor' beyond hitting a unconcious dino again, which will reduce taming efficiency and run the risk of killing said tame.
(Spiders can also inflict torpor but they are really bad for it and buggy as hell, though they arnt entirely useless for multiple people working on a tame , useless solo though.)
