Metal-Anky

thatch-Deer

fiber-Samsquanch (gigantopithicus)
(edit: Have to set to wander. No dino can attack/harvest fiber. Sickle is your best bet here)

wood-mammoth

berries-bronto

flint-anky

stone-doedic

bosidian-anky

crystal-anky

hide-cat

meat-giga

chitin-cat

angler gel- dunno... probably mosa

pelt-cat

polymer-quetz

pearls-Just pick them up... much faster.

Thats what I think! though I'm not 100% on some. feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Well yes, but you're kind of missing the point...

Pickaxe: metal, crystal, obsidian, meat, thatch, flint, oil (from oil nodes)

Axe: wood, stone, hide, pelt, angler gel, organic polymer, meat* (i've noticed i get more prime from an axe than a pick but i just might have bad luck)

Sickle: fiber

ape-giganto: fiber (has to be on wander)

giganos, rexes and spinos are good for meat overall, i'd say

many people use sabres for pelt, chitin and hide i believe?

frog: cementing paste as well as chitin

mammoth: wood

doed: stone

berries: bronto -> stego -> mammoth -> trike (i think?)

anklyo: flint, crystal, metal

organic polymer: i haven't compared the two yet but i got plenty with an axe as well as my argent

pearls are best picked up by hand from the shaloows in the snow biome on the shore, or all over the place under the ocean along the shores of pretty much the entire map.

i added a few varients because some people don't have the use of Giganos or quetz.

hope i didn't miss anything!~

Sorry guys- but this one goes to the Dire wolf- 10 more base attack- like comparing a rex to a spino
Angler Gel
From my obsrvations, Megalodon/Plesiosaurus seem to get about the same, but I dont own a mosa to try that
Pelt
Sorry guys- but this one goes to the Dire wolf- 10 more base attack- like comparing a rex to a spino
Organic Polymer
Irrelevant- organic polymer now has a hard cap of 3-4
Silica Pearls (from trilos)
Irrelevant- silica pearls/oil now has a hard cap of 3-4

Thanks for all answers! :)

In summary- the following dinos are considered a must own based on their resource collection abiilities alone

-Ankylosaurus. it is an all-round miner
-Doedicurus. Only gets Wood/thatch/stone. will not harvest berries on its own
-Bronto. 1500%+ melee damage will get you an assortment of about 600+ berries in the right bush
-Beelzebufo. this feller is aquatic(no oxygen meter, gains stamina while swimming, doesnt rocket to surface when dismounted under water), and farms a decent amount of Chitin. its attack also has a torpor effect, and it gets cementing paste directly from insects- but at capped amounts
-Saber/direwolf(the wolf doesn't get a saddle but has a high damage resistance, plus gets 10 more base damage than saber)
-Giganotosaurus- not only is this thing still incredibly OP(and a complete PVP game changer) but it looks like the devs broke their nerf bat trying to use it on the Giganotosaurus. Even after the reductions to level gain, getting a giganotosaurus up to 400% melee damage is relatively easy and killing an alpha rex nets us over 100 raw prime. 6X hunger speed was NOT enough either, since it gets 100+ raw meat from a Bronto/Paracer and there is seemingly plenty of those around when your not trying to prime meat tame a dino. Thats why we have 3(had 4 but we gave our weakest one to an ally to try and kill their enemy- but they failed) . Also consider its incredible stock HP pool. even when reduced heavily while tames, its still 70K-90K from my observations
-Quetzacoatlus: Level this flying sky god in weight, have a friend with a 2K+ melee anky, and watch the metal ore pile in the thousands

Mammoth is not on my essential list for 1 reason alone: they only spawn in the North, so you either have to aggro it back to your base, past rexes, spinos, and other potential predators, or have a Quetz air lift it back to your base to tame. Even full kibble tamed, its a long tame, so you want to have it in a safe place, which the North isn't. It is the very best at getting wood though

you do realise that metal tools are useless compared to tamed dinos harvesting right?

dinos will harvest more when you pump them in melee, often carry more than you can, and harvest materials so much faster than metal tools
