I love survival servers. I admin on a server for ark. Easy to use. Had very few issues that ftping in didn't solve and any problems have been quickly taken care. The cost is way worth it and the server is always up even when i take a break from game and do random checkins.

But can i for example chage spawn rates and tame speed with these servers?

Hi
I have been using them for about a month. Had two problems with up loading which they fixed both in less than 24hrs of me emailing them. No problems with updating or installing mods.

Do you understand what it meant to rent a host and run your own server?

Yes you can change allmost anything for you server control page.

Yes its quite easy to use the control panel. Im pretty novice with that whole server admin thing and learned a few things along the way. 99% of the time the control panel works seamlessly. The only issues that i've ever encountered where it somehow kicked my server to pvp versus pve. It was a server side issue and there is an outstanding guide on their forums of how to ftp in and manually change things. First time was very nerve racking. However now i go in with no issues or fears. Worst case scenario and you somehow mess things up. Well they have backups which is a great peace of mind. Oh and never panic. When you restart the server it takes about 10-15 mins from start to finish. I panicked the first time. Once you see the start, stop, restart etc come back-you can load into ark after about 5 mins even though it says its not loaded.

They are my worse experience. Not answering to tickets (i've waiting for more than 24 hours, then I cancelled my account), removing your topics in their forums if you complain about this (censorship), and etc. The worse.....

Ive had a really mixed experience. My brother rented the server and I admin it.

+Servers are fast and have decent ping
+The price is good
+If you are running a basic vanilla server they are unbeatable

-The initial day we purchased our server no one could join it. They said it was fine and they could get in. We restarted it a few times and when it didnt work my brother (rudely, sadly) demanded a refund. They dont issues them. Neither we nor our players could get in until the evening of the next day when the server came down on its own and went back up.
-A few times now we have had to delete ALL the mods on the server and reinstall them just to get the server to update them. This is SUPPOSED to be completely automated, but for whatever reason it will occasionally not work.
- The ticketing system is far from smooth. Sometimes it times out posting your support request (requiring you to retype the whole thing) or your ticket will just sit there unanswered until you send the same one again.
-Commonly used admin tools like ARKRemote and ARKON are not supported
-Posting in the forums for help basically gets you told something along the lines of "Nothing is wrong, what did you do? Post a ticket"

I mean I can admire their speedy servers and decent ping, but there are issues there.
