Sarcosuchus... Weak?
Am I the only one who feels a giant killer crocodile is... Sort of weak compared to the rest of the large creatures?

Is there an advantage to having a Sarco vs something like a Megalodon or Spino?

Crocodilians are still around today for a reason. After all, they eat Buffalo which are far bigger than them and have been known to take lions that are at waters edge.

Am I missing something?

They are faster then the spino or thrme mega in water

It is just a preference.

Sarc's swim faster, good for long distance travel from one coast to another. But if your seeking an actual aquatic combat mount? Meg outclasses the Sarc is pretty much all respects save for speed. Only down side to a Meg is it needs a pen to not be killed when dismounted, sarcs can be walked up onto land and to your base for protection.

And how does the Spino compare to them? Which one would you guys use for diving to get pearls or oil?

I have a 90 Megalodon but it's suuuuppper slow

Versatility. They're faster and more agile in the water than a Spino, and they can go on the land unlike a Mega (also more carry weight). They're also much easier to tame than either one of the afforementioned creatures. Sure, they're not supreme killing machines, but they're not weak in combat either.

The spino is is bigger and has more dps.

Not as fast as the sarco.

Personally I use thr itchy for pearl gathering. I just leave it on passive. And minr has 250% mvt speed, so nothing the ocean can catch me.

Sarcos are terrible.
And why do they swing their head rather than use their powerful ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jaw?

They're actualy decent underwater mounts they fill a middle role between the Itchy and the Mega. Their turning circle is a problem though.

i have 9 sarcos, 2 megas, 4 ichthys, 1 pleasy, 1 mososaur, and 1 frog. i started off with the sarco, i used it as my prime mount for along time ( i got very lucky n found a sarco saddel early )

sarcos are far too rigid and their underwater manuverability is poor. good for deep dive / coastal transport / guard dogs. ( i keep all 9 on neutral roam )

megas are perfect underwater hunters, their underwater manuverabilty and body flexability make them ideal for hunting. i set my two megas on neutral roam when i am not useing them they keep the waters safe for the rest of my aquatics.

imo its mainly the inability for sarcos to bend / pitch that makes them hard to use, if you notice ichthys, megas, pterradactals, and argents can pitch. meanwhile sarcos, pleasys, mosos, & quetz cannot. imo this is a major factor in combat function when operating in a 3d arena such as sea & sky. ( not saying that things that cannot pitch are useless in combat just saying they are harder to manuver )

recently i tamed a mososaur, i use it as my deep dive all in one mount being that her base weight was 800. ( was only a lvl 4 ) i both like and disslike using her, her speed is great but her stam drains fast. her bite attack is great and her neck / body can flex to a wide arch but i pretty much have to stop moving to land hits. she cannot pitch atall this is a major drawback for me, however i understand its prolly due to the fact that they have the platform saddel option.

in the end i perfer my ichthy with two megas on follow, or even just my megas. but hotdamn do mosos look badass while swimming, and if there was a sarco skin armor set id never wear anything else. ( scorpious from farscape )

When your in control of them, you can help them fight better. The wilds have trouble fighting because of the al but tamed are really good

agreed. the AI on them is next to retarded. but tamed, and with the right stats, they are totally beast. they are SOOOOO fast underwater, obviously slower on land, but compared to a Meg (which can't leave the water) and a Spino (which, when trying to farm anything underwater, will swim to the surface and leave you there), Sarcos are superior, imo.

edit: didn't know r3tarded was swearing. >.>

I use a Sarco for all my diving.

Their ascending and descending is the fastest out of any sea creature, making it super easy to collect oil and pearls.

If you live near the swamp, get a sarco they are so useful for getting around
Neo Blackheart Nov 28, 2015 @ 3:43pm
our 3rd dino tamed was a sarco right after a Stego and a pteradon. The sarco is still kicking but and has tanked many an alpha raptor without going below half health.
