On a few occasions, missing dinos have been found at 50, 50, so it pays to always check that location whenever a dino goes missing. However, in Puri's case where the dino had a tracking device, there is no point checking 50, 50. If it existed at all, the transponder would give you direction and distance data.
(1) If a rock re-spawns on top of a dino....the dino is classed as in an invalid location and the dino gets deleted (not the rock)
(2) If the dino is clipping into a wall (not a player made wall, but a cliff wall or ruin etc) The game may class is as invalid and get removed
(3) Z axis issues. This normally a cave bug but can effect any spot where there is more then one valid 'ground' Z axis location and the game does not handle theses so well, and may get classed as invalid
