Disappearing dinos and tribe log
Hi,

I wasn't online for two days, and today I found that both our Giganto and one of or four Doedis all set to wander disappeared.
I know this bug happens, and it's always kind of risky to let a dino on wander if no one is online and near it (although it worked fine for almost six weeks now).

But why I am posting this is, that they a transponder, and there is no signal. So they must have died (fallen through the world, killed by being stuck in a respawning tree/rock).
I am wondering why this isn't in the tribe's log. Shouldn't dinos deaths be tracked there? We've never lost a dino, only killed a baby and this is not shown as "death" in the log, but rather as "Your tribe killed...". So I am asking here: Do dino's death show up in the tribe's log?

We have a similar issue with pets (dinos) that have disappeared. The pets are not set to wander, and they were in a large fenced compound (two stone walls high). If they have been killed by something while no one is online, is the tribe log supposed to show the deaths? Thank you in advance for a definitive answer.

Answer (Unofficial): Hi. Your pet's death is recorded in your tribe log UNLESS the death or disappearence happens due to a game bug. This is not a new problem, it has been around as long as I've been playing the game.

On a few occasions, missing dinos have been found at 50, 50, so it pays to always check that location whenever a dino goes missing. However, in Puri's case where the dino had a tracking device, there is no point checking 50, 50. If it existed at all, the transponder would give you direction and distance data.

The game has a system in place that automatically removes any dino that the game thinks is in an invalid location. (no logs, cause it was removed by the system)

(1) If a rock re-spawns on top of a dino....the dino is classed as in an invalid location and the dino gets deleted (not the rock)
(2) If the dino is clipping into a wall (not a player made wall, but a cliff wall or ruin etc) The game may class is as invalid and get removed
(3) Z axis issues. This normally a cave bug but can effect any spot where there is more then one valid 'ground' Z axis location and the game does not handle theses so well, and may get classed as invalid

Tribe lost 2 quetz, paracer, anky, rhino In past month. Then yesterday, I land with my ptera to get a drop, and as soon as I hopped off, the bird vanished into thin air.It has got REALLY bad since last major update, and there are more threads popping up on this.
