Accidentally applied wrong resolution
I missed a character out when applying a new resolution and now I have a rediculous aspect ratio. This also restricts me from clicking on anything below about half way up the monitor, on both start menu and in game - I can change the resolution numbers, but I can't apply them because the apply button is at the bottom of the window. Pressing enter doesn't work and I can't tab through the options. How would I go about returning the resolution to 1920 x 1080, either through the game or externally? Losing *save* data is not an issue, but I'd rather not have to redownload the whole game.
Thanks in advance :D
PS - I'm on an iMac ( yeah, yeah, yeah I know :/ )

When starting Ark from steam.
Select the "Reset Game Resolution" option.

Let's say (hypothetically, of course) that I'm an absolute idiot - where would I find said "Reset game resolution" option?

(EDIT: It seems as though I have another problem in which the Steam dialogue that should pop-up before launch, with the option to reset resoltion, isn't showing. If anyone knows a solution for this, it would certainly solve this whole shenanigan)

open " ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini"

look for:

ResolutionSizeX=1920
ResolutionSizeY=1080

change as needed. save file.

Unfortunately . . . yes :/

Access to my PC is restricted by the fact that I have a brother.

well even the Mac Version should have some kind of .ini file for the game somewhere.
i would simply take a look if the file exists and if the resolution is set to something weird, if it is change it back and give it a try.

I have an .ini file named "DefaultGameUserSettings.ini", but that has no resolution settings in it - just default server settings. I'll check each .ini file progressively to see if any of them have the resolution settings hidden in their sneaky depths.

when you press play in Steam, a small window opens up with several start options..

well that would help other mac users too ^^
but if you would like to take a shortcut, open up steam, click on your library select games, right click on ark > reset ........ done too

I'm afraid that I'm not recieving that small information box. In fact I don't believe I ever did :/
Is that a normal feature for everybody except me?
Is it a Steam or an Ark dialogue?

(EDIT: If anyone knows a soltion for this, then it would probably sort out this whole shenanigan!)

yes, it is completely a standard feature. Are you starting from the Steam Library? or from a shortcut? When you press play, a box opens up several launch options such as:

start up normal
start 4GB mode
Start dx10
reset resolution
etc......

Well I've definitely not seen that before.
I'm loading it through Steam, not a shortcut . . . I am on a Mac though
Maybe I should just restart downloading from scratch? My internet's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow though X'(
Might help to patch the faults?
Can you send a snapshot?

In "WindowsEngine.ini" there's a block that goes
[SystemSettings] r.setres=1280x720
But that's definitely not the res I was setting it to and I don't know what it'll change, but there's no other .ini files with alterable mentions of resolution.
