Organic polymer in fridge?

Is it a bug that I can't seem to put my organic polymer in the fridge to increase the 30 min spoil timer? I drap it over and it wont go in (no its not full) it does go into a preserving bin, but it doesn't affect the timmer at all...surely you should be able to preserve it if its organic?

have the devs given any kind of justification as to why? Seems kind of silly that I have to fly across the entire map to get this stuff and then only have 30 mins to use it, even though every other organic material in the game is preversable

Don't be hyberbolic, you have 30 minutes to use each one from a stack. A stack of 10 takes 5 hours to completely deplete. 'All the way across the map' can be achieved in less than 5 minutes with any half way decent Ptera, let alone Quetz. If you want to stock pile polymer, do it the old fashioned way with obsidian and cementing paste, if you need a small supply of polymer to use pretty much straight away then go and massacre some penguins.

with my 1120% damage quetzal i can get 150+ o-polymer in 5-7min and i need 4min to fly from NW to NE and use it as well

I tamed a lvl 100 wolf yesterday and got 50 just walking him over the iceburgs eating penguins as I rafted him home, let alone making any actual concerted effort to go out and collect any.

I'm saying that what's wrong with convieninece? Let us keep it in the fridge for the same reason we can keep meat in the fridge, even though you could just step out of your base 5 feet, kill the nearest thing that moves and restock your supply.

Because the "convenience" makes it OP. You have choices here and if you're making a choice between the 2 ways to get polymer then the balance is spot-on.

Like someone said in another post. If you just need polymer real quick for something. Hunt penguins. If you need a bunch of it, long term, make it. I think it the balance is fine that way.
