Sure. Quick answer I know, but there wasn't much to add. You can either paint it, which it seems like you knew, or else tame a new one that's already the color you want. The only options currently unfortunately.
But substitute the 0s for different numbers
Fort number is the area and second number is the color
You can check the number for all of the colors on the gamepedia for entity ids
Couldn't find the actual command for it but here's the colors and regions.
Oops yeah. Sorry OP, I never considered you might be playing single player or on a private server. Guess I'm too used to playing official now :D
