Sure. Quick answer I know, but there wasn't much to add. You can either paint it, which it seems like you knew, or else tame a new one that's already the color you want. The only options currently unfortunately.
Yes, use the commands settargetdinocolor 0 0
But substitute the 0s for different numbers
Fort number is the area and second number is the color
You can check the number for all of the colors on the gamepedia for entity ids

There are admin commands for it. https://www.reddit.com/r/playark/comments/3kme75/dino_colour_research/
Couldn't find the actual command for it but here's the colors and regions.

Oops yeah. Sorry OP, I never considered you might be playing single player or on a private server. Guess I'm too used to playing official now :D

no worry's and thanks everyone
Yeah, dont have anything to add to this. I do think they should come up with another method for this, cause the warpaint (in particular the black one) doesnt work at all pretty much. And when you want a specific look to your dino, it sometimes takes ages to find it in the wild. Also you might settle for something similar, cause youre tired of looking and that sucks. Even if some colors of the warpaint work, I think it comes out looking very unnatural...

Yes. You have to be admin on the server though, or on singleplayer.

You can use this guide to see what color region (the first 0 ) to change would be for each dino

And this guide is a guide to what each color looks like, and its color ID

this handy site will generate the commands for you
