Carnos should be *dangerous* when on foot with only a weapon and no dino but I have absolutely no fear of them whatsoever. They pound up behind me, letting me know they are coming, I dodge, and a couple stabs later, dead. If Carno was faster and a better fighter, then it would be a worthwhile dino. Right now, it's not.
Many of the dinos, wolves included, have *terrible* fighting AI. Carnos aren't the only terrible fighters out there. Only reason bigger dinos can fight is because they have a bigger bite radius.
But with the giganotaurus and the quetzal the balance between the dinos is completely broken anyhow, there is no need to have any other pet (for battle reasons). So I would generally wish that they would rebalance the existing dinos in one of the next patches.
