Carnotaurus is Underpowered
I feel like the carnotaurus needs a serious buff, their dossier says that they are faster than a Rex, but the actual values are lower, not to mention that the carno has poor stamina regen compared to a rex. As of now the carno is not a mix of a rex and raptor, it is just a wannabe of either and cant do anything as well as either of the two.

It hauls pretty good for its size, and it depends on what you are adding when you level up. I have a mated pair, and have them follow me on my Spino, and use them as support when I hit something with the Spino, they help out quite a bit...both are in the high 80s...my Spino is 128, so the 3 tearing into something -- even a Rex -- do pretty well...but I agree, by themselves, not so much...but I still like mine.

i hope a future buff for a lot of creatures in Ark....

They don't need a buff so much as an improved AI. They are so easy to fight. I can kill them on foot with my pike without a scratch because they move sluggishly. It doesn't even matter how hard they hit (thus buffing damage would be pointless) because they are terrible fighters due to bad AI.

Carnos should be *dangerous* when on foot with only a weapon and no dino but I have absolutely no fear of them whatsoever. They pound up behind me, letting me know they are coming, I dodge, and a couple stabs later, dead. If Carno was faster and a better fighter, then it would be a worthwhile dino. Right now, it's not.

Many of the dinos, wolves included, have *terrible* fighting AI. Carnos aren't the only terrible fighters out there. Only reason bigger dinos can fight is because they have a bigger bite radius.

i dont think they really need a buff, really they r alot more durable then raptors, as well as making good pack mules, u take 2 or 3 of them to the mountain, nothing short of an alpha will hurt u, plus they can get into places rexs cant, cant imagin how many times i get stuck on rocks when before, carnos can just walk over. they r meant to be a stepping stone between raptors and rexs, plus, i mean u got to love their little derpy arms

i like them. plus they sneeze/snort when they headbutt and i just "teenage white girl" over it because it's cute.

thats applicable to all creatures

Carno is just a really old and outdated dino. Its slower than rex, surpassed by wolves and cats, inferior to Sarco. I think a buff from 400 to 600 hp, stam regen buff, and higher springing speed will bring it up to date with the current time.

Yes, I agree that there is no real niche for carno. Perhaps if they gave it a perk that he gets more primal meat than any other dino and it stays fresh 2-3 times as long as he is carrying it, or he will get double stacks of prime.

But with the giganotaurus and the quetzal the balance between the dinos is completely broken anyhow, there is no need to have any other pet (for battle reasons). So I would generally wish that they would rebalance the existing dinos in one of the next patches.

Honestly the only real use they have is maybe a support dino during raids. I much prefer using a Dire Wolf or Saber compared to a Carno, for any purpose really.

At a low level, carnos are a pain in the ass. everything gets easier as you gain levels. They're a good mid-level mount. Not as fast as a raptor, but can haul more weight and do more damage. But not as much as a rex.

Pretty sure the dev's have said the dinos first introduced with the game (Carno, trike etc..) will be getting a balance pass eventually. I'd bet the Carno will be a dino to see some of the biggest changes both in terms of balance but also the character model.

You have to have something for mid level and a carno does that well. a good step between the Raptor and the Rex.

my thoughts on the Carno

movement speed is a percentage. a Doedicurus tames with 220% movement speed yet is still one of the slowest walking dinos in the game.

The Carno isn't in that bad of a spot atm, it fills the role of the tanky mid tier dino. The Carnos my tribe breed can reach 40k hp with 1k damage, no other mid tier dino can reach that amount of health with that amount of damage.
