Mining: Pickaxe Vs Axe - Answered
I've noticed that i get about half Stone, Half Flint when minting with a pickaxe. But, When i mine with an axe i usually get about 80% stone, Is this normal? Also, Both seem to yeild the same results when trying to get metal, But it's hard to tell since it is random. Does a pickaxe return higher amounts of metal, Over the axe?

hatchet = stone pickaxe = flint/metal

Yes. Dev logic is this. The primary tool for an item is going to attempt to grab the more precious item.

Rocks
Pickaxe - Will attempt to grab more flint/metal before grabbing stone as they are rarer items.
Axe - Will grab more stone because it is the more common component.

Trees
Pickaxe - Will grab more thatch.
Axe - Will pull more Wood.

The pick does flint and metal better.

The axe does stone.

The best way to get metal is with an anky

Ankylosaurus.... herbivore. Has lots of spikes all over its back with a club for a tail. You'll need to level up some before getting a saddle for it in which to be able to use it as a gatherer. I think 30-40ish from the top of my head.
