Best or Safe(ish) base locations?
So I'm looking to migrate from the small pool beside the Northern Cove/Oasis. Anyone know any good spots that'd be easy enough to throw up some big fencing and live?

Around 60 15 is the safest spot that I know of. Its close to the snow to the north and swamp to the east. Lay down a few xseed plants to keep random preds such as dilo away. Up on top of the cliff at the end of the bay would be a choice spot. Easy and quick to wall off either side with only 2 gates needed for access to outer area.

For me, pretty much any cliff would work, but there is a farely high cliff near the south-western (be carefull, west and east are reversed on compasses!) most river, its right next to it above the swamp, on the map, youll see a tiny spec of land above a bigger lip of land. Its at about 65 30 ^^

Herbivore Island in the far south east is a pretty mellow spot unless you pick up bronto eggs. Most anywhere south is "relatively" safe in comparison to the northern regions. This is vs environment, pvp safe doesnt really exist.

If you're looking for safe from PvE, the south half of the map is safer across the board. Further south, safer. IMO. Safe is subjective though. Safe for a level'd t00n or a new one?

I play on a hardcore server, with a northern base, and yeah safe is a huge component as the consequences of dying are huge.

Drayo's cove is safe and still gets a decent amount of dino spawns nearby.
