Why can't we tame or ride the leedsichthy?
It's big enough to ride and long enough to tame to defend a mosasaur

Because devs dont want us to tame it? Its easy like that. Their game, their rules. Feel free to forcetame it on your private server or single player.

OP is asking about the Leed- not the Icthy.

edit: thankfully, it's not tameable.

it is too stupid to be tamed. read the dosier. also this dino has only 1 purpose at the moment: a living meat station. attack it, get some meat, let it gegenerate, get more meat etc.

Which of course doesn't make any sense since snails and dung beetles are much more basic organisms with way fewer cognition than fish, and yet they're tameable...
not really. evolution made these things able to learn stuff and do things. the creature we're talking about has literally no idea what it is doing and just swims around. you can't tame it because it wouldn't even notice what would happen.

dont want people to just kill it inside my cage on pve servers

i dont mind the leed' being a non-tameable creature. i always thought that whaling would be fun in ark, but plessies and mosas rarely visit the surface. hopefully it will be higher in the oceon than them. I understand that some people want to tame it

. I totally understand the feeling of wanting to tame something you cant, eg the dragonfly.
But not in its current state , the dragonfly shoulda been bigger. the fact that ants are so huge and dragonflies are regular size kinda peeved me(IMHO this game needs more rideable arthropods). <-- A little off topic i know

But on the leed' i think a harpoon gun would be cool, like if you hit the leed' with one you become attached to it by a rope and the you pull out your crossbow and shoot it while it frantically tows you around the oceon .
