Crop Plot spoilage rate
What is it compared to a fridge? Am I better off leaving berries in the plot until needed or should harvest then fridge?

Well one thing to note, is continuing to preserve it on the crop plot will prevent the crop plot from growing more, and its spoilage rate will default to the level of being in your inventory if it ever runs out of fertilizer.

That said, I think its roughly equal to leaving it in a fridge versus leaving it on the plant as for how fast it'll spoil. Take what I say with a grain of salt, I might be off on my estimates.

It all depends....

If you know for a fact that you will need a lot of veggies over the next day or two then pick them and put them in the fridge. Just remember to keep an eye on the fertilizer.

If you just want them around for when you need them then leave the veggies on the plant and pick as needed. Doing this requires much MUCH less fertilizer. Also in a large crop plot the veggies will top off around 150.

Fertilizer, for me, is the most annoying resource to gather.

There is no yeild different between small, medium. or large plots. The only difference is what it can grow.

It can be, I'll admit to being annoyed with it too. Ended up getting a phiomia tamed, forcefeeding it stimberries, and having thirty compost bins just so I could set it up in bulk and always have a large amount of it on hand and have to do it less often. Phiomia makes is slightly less annoying as they poo rapidly when forcefed stimberries.

I have a Speedlink Decus which has a rapid fire button, i couldn't wait to try it on the Stimberries on my Phiomia.
She only managed to poo once as all the stimberries vanished that quickly.
But its hilarious as hell.

Stimberries + Phiomia = Massive Diarrohea
Fertilizer is actually fun to gather because of this VERY reason.
Poor Phiomia butts

Both Survivors make the point-it limits your produce to 150 and costs fertilizer to maintain. Put it in the fridge and when it gets below a level you decide, fill the plot back up with fertilizer and repeat. A couple of plots can supply you with all the premium crops you need.

I wish we could tweak the spoilage rates in the ini files... crops/veggies should actually last longer than raw meat!

I could see some crops spoiling in 48 hours in game, but others should be at least a couple days before they spoil

I don't think you can for individual items but you can for the global spoilage rate.

You can adjust crop spoilage time

Notes from patch 218
* Server Admins can now set in their Game.ini:
CropGrowthSpeedMultiplier=1
LayEggIntervalMultiplier=1
PoopIntervalMultiplier=1
CropDecaySpeedMultiplier=1

When I leave my crop plots at their "fruitling" states (it stays at this as long as I don't remove all the veggies inside?) they consume less fertilizer and keep producing more veggies? Did I get that right? Because then it would make sense to pick the veggies only when I need them. I have a refrigerator and I'm not sure if I should put them all in there.

Beetle, get beetle ASAP, most of the time leave it in the plot it's better, put in fridge if you're about to make 300+kibble also you waste sparkpower if use fridge. Best is to feeding bin and not fridge. But overall, leave it in the plot better

Veggies in the fridge spoil faster than veggies that are still on the crop plot. I believe they spoil at the rate of 1 veggie every 30 minutes when placed inside the refrigerator. You're 110% better off making an extra set of veggie crop plots or two if you plan on using a lot of veggies.

It's very hard, as a native english speaker, to understand what you're trying to say.

And yes, the beetle is nice, but the beetle did not exist until very recently and mind you this thread is from November 2015.

The veggies in the fridge seem to last significantly longer than just 30 minutes per unit of a stack. The rockaroots stack I'm looking at right now is at 6 hours and something.
