noonish is the ETA for when they will wake up and start their day. It is when they will look at their computer and pull up the comment section then have a good laugh. They will then go back to bed and come back in a couple hours were they will change the ETA to another ish time and go get popcorn dress up like MJ and read more comments and have another laugh, get a good troll idea, and randomly put another weird timish ETA on the discussion notes. Finally they will have a nice bubble bath, bet on a ♥♥♥♥ fight, lose all their money they got on this game from a chicken called chickganotosaur, buy some Narcotics to forget the lose while forgetting the ETA ish time passed. When they finally come to they will then click the Insert into core game button and then remember they will set up times to send out patches for the update that they knew would have problems. That is Noonish

Noonish means sometime around noon, +/-, give or take. It's an expression meaning a very rough estimate. For example how many nails does it take to hold a board that big? 5 ish... 3 might do it, could take 8. Noonish my guess would be 11am to 1pm .... then again, this is Ark dev time, so it could be even earlier or much much later? (no offence to the devs, I know they'll be busting their butts to make it happen)

Hope that explanation helps. Its a very common expression in some places!

In a thousand years, ARK was destroyed, and all of its players killed.
A thousand years ago, ARK will be updated, and what can't be avoided will be.

I'm expecting the update to come either this evening or sometime tomorrow. I'm surprised anyone still expects the updates to come out at the ETA.

The ETA is an estimated time if everything goes as planned and no additional issues are found. Since so much is being updated, other issues are typically found and fixed before release, forcing them to change the ETA when it goes back for another pre-release test run. This is why it's called an Estimated Time of Arrival and not a Time of Arrival.

This basically gives them a way of letting us know that they've completed the initial changes/additions and are now in a testing phase, preparing to release it. Unfortunately, too many people are unfamiliar with how game development (or any kind of software development, really) works, and think that the ETA is when it is actually supposed to arrive. Not to mention, every development team works differently.

Wildcard likes to keep their players involved and release patches as soon as possible. AAA companies will often figure excessively far out ETAs (days, even weeks longer than they actually expect it to take) and end up completing a patch, and then sit on it for several hours, possibly even several days, before releasing it. This is why you don't see delays, very often, on AAA title patches. I also expect Wildcard will adopt a similar method once the game is no longer considered an Early Access title, but I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to change the rules, too.

just relax, the patch will come out when its ready. the timeline they give is only an estimate, not exactly when it will be released.

Between noon (12pm) and noon three days from now (also 12pm).
Nikea Nov 20, 2015 @ 11:13am
Have ya never heard of noon before?

I'm not asking for the patch or for the "ETA" words, only ask for "noonish" word.
