What's your best pearl farmer?
Getting silica pearls is a PITA, low drop rate and only 1 or 2 each time and ONLY available from the Trilobite. Since many electronics are required for high end stuff, farming them becomes a full time job.

What dino do you use to farm them?

On land, I prefer the frog, he can move fast, he's agile and has a good DPS. Under the water, a dolphin seems to have the agility to farm them well.

What are you talking about? Silica pearls are not only farmable from trilos LOL
You see the glittering white things on the ocean grounds and along the ice coast? Yes?
Guess what?

THATS PEARLS YOU CAN PICK UP BY PRESSING E! XDDD (with no tool equipped)

3-4 Pearls per node, usually 5-10 nodes arround = masses of pearls available XD

We just harvest the pearl nodes under the ocean.

Fly along the upper left corner cliffs/beach(north/west) and just pick them up, you do not even need to dive deep in the ocean to do this.
I often occupy an underwater cavern, so I farm them with my hands. I always have too many pearls.

North West coast where the snow biome starts, there's a cove that is full of silica pearls.

Yeah a Mosasaurus can mass eat trilobites if your crazy in one bite, but my best is the stupid dolphin right now. It can't fight very well but I pop a lazurus chowder for more oxgen and can get good hauls from clams at the bototm of the ocean. Don't waste time with trilos unless you after chitin and want a tiny little bonus of free oil and pearls.

Just go to the wiki or whatever and find lazurus chowder recipe its your friend you can make that with a stone irrgations system and medium crop plot and like half a day for it to grow, then hop a easy tame dolphin and get tons of pearls even farm oil from ocean floor if that is your thing.

If you're really farming them from trilobites, use a wolf or saber. But the actual smart thing to do is to go in the ocean or an underwater cave and gather pearls from the clams

Well I have seen these glittering things and can't seem to do anything with them. They look just like glittery coral to me, I thought it was just decoration.

get off the mount swim up hit E and grab the clams for pearls

it's like picking berries by hand. You have to have nothing equipped in your hand to pick the pearls from the mussels.

//Edit
Also try the CAVES under water, there is usually up to 80 pearls lootable per cave per spawn period (placed a bed in one, gives us 500 pearls per day).

I clicked on the thread thinking it was going to discuss a dino that actually picked up pearls from clams.

Spino with a scuba suit on. A Spino can swim to the bottom of the ocean and stay there for quite a long time. Just don't get off the Spino or he will go straight to the surface.

The Spino doesn't turn very well but it's faster than... well everything wild in the water. Zoom and boom. Turn chomp chomp swim away turn chomp chomp.

Having killed many high lvl mosas with my "little spino" all I can say is "yawn". Not that I need to kill them, my spino is way faster than a wild mosa. Now a tamed one with a rider... that's another story all together.
