Apex boss eggs

Hi,
How do one get Apex boss eggs to make the spirit kibble to tame spirit creatures?
And what is the difference between spirit kibble and a spirit orb?
I am a bit confused on this, i hope someone can explain to me =)

You get apex boss eggs by taming an apex boss (apex megapithecus/apex dragon/apex broodmother) and then waiting for it to lay eggs (might need to be a female). It needs to be an apex boss and cant be a normal apex creature. I think you also cant tame apex bosses with apex kibble, but im not sure. Check if there is an apex orb. That brings me to the next point. The difference in kibble and orbs is that kibble is for normal dinos and orbs are for bosses, for example: Chaos Guardian(Chaos Wyvern); Spirit Guardian(Spirit Wyvern)

So for example if you want to tame an apex carno you can just use kibble, but if you want to tame an apex megapithecus then you need an apex orb. Easiest way to check what creatures eat is use the "Awesome Spyglass" Mod. When you hover over a creature it shows you everything it eats.

So i understand what is needed to be done, but i cant even get any normal boss eggs at all.
I tamed some boss broodmothers and boss monkeys, but now on day 3 i havent gotten any normal boss eggs.
is it really that slow or am i missing something here?
i do know about the Oviraptors speeding up things, but shouldnt i have gotten atleast 1 egg in 3 days without Ovi´s?
im so confused

After looking it up i found that people say that they havent been able to get eggs from their females unless they also have a male. Not sure if its cause of the mate boost or simply made necessary by the mods settings. If you already have a male and female, try to breed them and use the fertilized egg to craft, some mods allow for fertilized eggs to be used as crafting component. Also set up some kind of collector, like an S+ one.
