Taming a Quetzal using a Quetzal?
So I've heard stories of people managing to tame a low lvl Quetzal to build a trap box onto it so that they can bring a downed Quetzal back to base safely. I managed to down one and have it lay down on the Quetzal in midair, but the trouble lies here. Whenever I try to bring it back to my base, it simply slides off the completely fenced edged of the platform saddle.

Kinda wanted to know if theirs a trick to to it. I know i could simply tame it mid-air, but seeing how this is a PVP server, I run a bit of a risk. Anyone got any tips to how they managed to drive an unconscious dino from point A to point B without it sliding off the saddle?

Moving unconscious dinos is not possible, I'm afraid. Once you knock it out, you can't move the 'taming platform' or it will fall through. You have to tame it mid-air. Bring enough supplies to do so.

It MIGHT be possible to seal it into the taming box, then sort of drag it along while it's still conscious... but I suspect it would eventually clip through. (if not immediately)

You have to keep the front open, fly it into the box head-on and then S L O W L Y move it over your base. Don't sprint fly and try not to make large elevation changes as they like to slip through the roof anyway. Once its over your base, THEN knock it out. Because the second you move the platform while its under, it drops. Same happens to a Rex on a taming raft platform.

Just be careful where you're dropping it. I dropped one right in the drink once by mistake.

Good to have confirmation that it works ^-^ Although I could just air tame it like sausage said if it, for some reason, doesn't.

Are your server settings tweaked? Shouldn't that be too many structures for a Quetz platform?

Okay. I am a bit confused. In an other thread i read about a taming raft. They kited a mammoth on the raft and knocked it out. And they were stil able to drive home. Here is this threadhttp://steamcommunity.com/app/346110/discussions/0/483367798500487729/

Now i read here it isnt possible to move knocked out creatures.

Is it possible or not?

It's possible. I did exactly this last weekend on an official PVE server.

U mean with a raft? Or the tame with a quetzal.

It is possible, BUT!

What usually happens, the times I've seen it, is the creature stays on the platform, and when it wakes up, immediately gets teleported to where it was knocked out.

I did what it says in the quote: downed a mammoth on a raft and ferried it back to my base.

Realy? Everytime or just sometimes?

I can confirm platforms and rafts can carry unconcious dinos and ride them around while taming.
We brought an unconscious Wolf back from the tundra to the swamp on a raft, taming it as we went.

I actually have a Taming Arena built on my Bronto platform saddle. Allies can air lift wild dinos with the Argentavis and drop them into the arena then shoot narcotics through windows from safety.
I then transport them where they want to be while they tame them on the platform. :)

I have no experience with Quetz or Quetz platform saddles though. Alpha Rex's are more common on our server than the Quetz..
