Meganeura - most broken creature in ark
To the Devs:
I thoroughly enjoy this game, the setting, and mechanics. I realize that it is an alpha game, and as such will have some bugs/kinks that need to be worked out over time.

With that preface in mind, I would like to ask the devs to give a higher priority to rebalancing the meganeuras.

These insects are so overpowered, that you can walk through swamplands and always find at least a few cases of a 1-3 meganeuras killing high level sarcos, paraceras, raptors, and even T-Rex.

I know that the devs have a lot to work on, and a lot on the agenda list; however, its not hard to see how terribly broken these insects are and therefore how badly a fix is needed. If its not on your "to-do" list, I'ld like you to consider adding it; if it is on the "to-do" list, please consider bumping it up a few notches.

Thanks!

huh? but isn't that how the food chain works? the smallest are on top, and the biggest and strongest at the bottom?!
huh... guess i've been lied to, i thought the dragonflys were meant to rule the world, and be able to kill absolutely everything, simply because they can't be hit by wild animals, as they fly too high up.

Balancing seems to be not high up on the devs list, as long as it's sorta balanced, they can come back to it later and focus on content and performance instead. I agree though, meganeura's are too OP. Same for tamed trikes.

Meganeura's aren't OP, the problem is target tracking for larger dinos. They get locked into a position where they can't hit the Mega but the mega can hit them. Same thing happens with dimos and ants occasionally or turtles and T-Rexes.

When they re-vamp the AI and fix hit box and targetting the megas will be one shot by nearly everything like a carno, sarco, t-rex etc.

they arent overpowered at all they ai of dinos is just terrible right now the sarcos just sit there and take hits also teh way sarcos move its really hard for them to hit the big dragonfly's... its liek watching a wild dimorph slaughter a high level wild rex their turnign radius is horrible and their ai is terrible so they tend to just run in circles while teh dimorph gnaws on them in a safe spot...

I've also witnessed a flock of Dimorphs take out a couple rexes as well. Honestly, at this stage, it doesn't really bother me as I know that balancing still needs to be fixed, and will be overtime. I suppose I find it more amusing than anything.

every dino gets locked in to spinning circles and eventually die because they cant hit the bugs , especially terrible with flying dinos that spin up and up and up and up and up until they are gone , if any dinos are op its the flying rats (dimorphodons)

Problem with balancing is when they will add new dino, they will have to rebalance the entire list of dino.

So, just like every other game company, they create their game, do some balancing to fit with the actual gameplay and leave the biggest part of the job to the end. To avoid being forced to rebalanced all the time.

Iff you can't understand this simple little thing, then leave the game man, Early Access aren't made for you, wait for the final version. You will avoid all those annoying things.

By the way, this insect never attacked me except after i killed something and attacked one that wanted my meat. So nothing is broken here, I kill them easily what ever im on foot or on a dino. The only one that need improvement is the frog that can't hit it.

Yes, I have seen Megas hover directly over a Trike's back and just bite it to death while the Trike could only spin in circles and not land a single hit.

with tamed dinos you can just walk backwards and the flies are dead. wild dinos should be able to do the same.

While the dino AI and targetting needs work, and will eventually get it, it's still not out of the realm of possibility that small flyers will be difficult for big dinos to hit. It's little different than you or I trying to swat a fly out of the air with our hands. The bug is faster and smaller, making it a more difficult target. Should the dinos get stuck spinning around trying to attack? No... but again, that can be fixed later. Should they run away at a certain point? Try to flee into water or trees to shake off the bugs? Yes, if it comes to that. Again, that's for later though.

if they gave dinos bonus defense agaisnt the small bugs it would fix alot of it a dragon fly could never do any actual damage to a large dino dinos already ahve massive defense against bullets and explosives and its not like you can tame the ants and megas anyways... they should jsut be an annoyance to players... but who knows what the devs have planned for the final product...
