pillars and ceilings respawn radius question

so far I know pillars have shorter non respawn radius to the foundation, but if you put ceiling on top of it - pillar will behave as foundation with non respawn radius. but what will happen if I remove ceiling from pillar? will it restore to previous state?
I want to build pillar fence and have them all same height so need to use ceilings for that, but don't want to screw metal and obsidian spawns near my base

Are you sure a ceiling on a pillar will reduce respawn as much as a foundation? I thought it still acted as a pillar (with almost no reduced respawn radius)

Ahh well.. how stupid is that. They really need to reduce respawn radius or make a different system than what is in currently.

this is the damage I did with my pillars on a mountian. Seems like the same as a foundation.

I can confirm that:
- lone pillars dont block respawns
- pillars with ceilisngs act as foundations - so they block respawns around them
- pillars that had ceiling on them, but now are again without any attachment, do not block respawns and act as normal lonely pillars again

I did test it on official serwer.
