Possible to set up a unique base around the red obelisk?? Will it still work if I do??
So I play single player (I don't intend to block the path to the red obelisk) But I am looking for somewhere I can build another unique base that is close to my last since I hate moving like anything and don't want to go far! I found the deep water area and island near the red obelisk and thought it could be a unique spot for a base! And its not far at all from my current base as I want to build something pretty large but I also need more water space than my current base offers for as I collect more water dinos! Is it possible to build here?? Will the red obelisk still work to spawn the broodmother etc! I just hate moving like anything but know as I get more mosasaurus and plessis and megas and itchies and the new water dinos etc I am going to need a lot more space for these guys! And this allows me to expand my water pen out into the ocean and do a bit of an indoor pen as well as breeding pen etc for water dinos too! And I can do something unique base wise :)

Help please

I've seen video's of people building under it in the water area, so it is possible. The boss spawning still works too, but if it falls onto your building...welp.

Well the dev's are going to make it so that if your try to do a boss fight. It teleports your to a boss fight arena. So you wont have to worry about it when that happens

not really...it's not like you are spawning broodmother 3 times a day everyday..

in all honestly, i wouldn't do that if i were you. look what happened in the north when they added the snow/swamp biome. and the next biom is most likely going to be some sort of desert/dry enviroment centered around the red obelisk...so you will just lose everything when they add it...

I am already based around this area and I hate moving! And I can't see anywhere else suitable to move too that is close and doesn't require moving a ton of dinos! Honestly that is the only thing that peeves me off in this game is having to move and I hate it so much I curse and swear which I normally don't do! Everywhere else has beach areas and I refuse to move all the way back north with the issues moving causes! And I don't have enough water area where I am right now!

And I want water areas that don't have that easy to see bit in it but where its not too deep to do it! All the places I consider have that issue! Or unbreakable rocks which makes them unsuitable to build in! Gah I even hate the thought of moving it makes me so fustrated! But then I also need metal and cant find any land areas that have that deep ocean area and interesting features to build on too! Where I can have my dinos really close! Nowhere really suits!

I could decide to take teh plunge and move north if I could find a suitable area but I know I will get extremly annoyed and fustrated with it all before I even get close to my destination as normally with the stupid dinos being stupid it takes me over 6 RL hours to get to my destination! Hence why I hate it!
