I feel a littl better that im not alone. Strange tho considering i dont think ark updated sense my last play sessions..
Anywho im going to try a final step.... the thing that as a IT person we tell people to do.. but we never do... restart your computer...
brb
I had this issue not long ago. I had 2 files that failed to validate and I could not get into any server. Restarting did not work for me. I simply just had to delete local files and basically reinstall the game is all. This happen to my dad couple days ago however validating worked for him and re-downloaded the missing files.
Sounds like to me files get corrupt or missing when a new update is installed causing possibly a miss match between the server patch version and your local patch version. My guess anyway.
Glad it works for you though.
I am going to be honest with you...... I do not know what to tell you, that sucks.
Have you attempted to add a new steam library/directory in steam settings and have all new installations install there, and then delete local files again and reinstall the game to that new folder? Or even do this on a complete seperate hardrive?
Both shutting down and restarting your pc will clear memory/cache so wondering if you may have more of a hardware issue going on or a corrupt file somewhere?
I can further conferm this is still happeneing, with me at least. Every time I have a crash, the validation all ways throws up 2 to 3 files failed, clean install dosn't change it. Once validated and reloaded the game works fine untill the next crash, the cause of which I lay squarly at Windows 10's feet, but these three file thing has been around since long before 10.
