3 Files Failed to Validate
Hello Survivors!
I woke up this morning to a ghastly thing! My Ark is failing to connect to a server and crashes when i try.
If i try to validate files it says 3 files failed to validate and will be re-aquired.
Steam immediantly reports ARK as complete, with 0 bytes downloaded.
The crash persists.
I tried using the delete local files then re-install.
Same problem with 3 files that failed to validate.

Any idea me brethern?

Edit: Restart Fixed it..... isn't it magical how restarting your computer is the 1 stop cure all :D

No idea, but the same problem.

I just noted that when deleting loca files it leave a few files behind including a saves folder. Probably houses your single player saves but w.e deleting all that nonsense and re-downloading again. Hoping for the best

I've got the same problem as well. Hopefully we can find a solution. Trying over and over again worked so far, still crashes 15-20 minutes in though.

Sometimes yelling at the pc and slapping it a few times works too.

I had this issue not long ago. I had 2 files that failed to validate and I could not get into any server. Restarting did not work for me. I simply just had to delete local files and basically reinstall the game is all. This happen to my dad couple days ago however validating worked for him and re-downloaded the missing files.

Sounds like to me files get corrupt or missing when a new update is installed causing possibly a miss match between the server patch version and your local patch version. My guess anyway.

Glad it works for you though.
Well, it is a everyday thing for me. most of the time restarting it does not work. After i have played the game for the day. I shut down my computer and the next day I can play but if my computer is not shut down I have problems most so. i have to validate and shut down not just restart the computer. Then sometimes that doe snot work. I when from 2 file a few updates ago to 3 now. Something need to be doen about it. i have played it since I go it but Im started to get upset with it if I have to stay in the game to play it in the evening. Really need to fix this to have a good time in this game

I am going to be honest with you...... I do not know what to tell you, that sucks.

Have you attempted to add a new steam library/directory in steam settings and have all new installations install there, and then delete local files again and reinstall the game to that new folder? Or even do this on a complete seperate hardrive?

Both shutting down and restarting your pc will clear memory/cache so wondering if you may have more of a hardware issue going on or a corrupt file somewhere?

This happens to my ARK client all the time. The app starts to throw errors and I know it's time to validate the files and replace the same three corrupt ones. Too bad it takes 20 minutes to sort out each time it happens. Current version is 2.4.1. This problem seems like it's been around a while. Has occurred to me on two different accounts and computers.

This happens to me Everytime i play the game as soon as i close it down restarting doesnt help either i have to validate and download 3 files everytime. is there anything anyone has seen to fix this? I have also deleted local files and went in and deleted the left over files as well so it was full clean install still having the same issue

This is an issue that has been around since the beginning of the EA proces of Ark. I didn't even know there was the necessity for the validating of files of games until i started playing this game. Everytime you've had a problem with the game crashing, you have to go through these steps. I don't know why it hasn't been fixed, the devs probably haven't found the source of the problem.

I can further conferm this is still happeneing, with me at least. Every time I have a crash, the validation all ways throws up 2 to 3 files failed, clean install dosn't change it. Once validated and reloaded the game works fine untill the next crash, the cause of which I lay squarly at Windows 10's feet, but these three file thing has been around since long before 10.
