You have to place it on the ground. But you have to make sure the temperature around it is optimal for it. Best way to do that is to have it near multiple AC units. Usually three or more.

And sometimes even fires are required. I'm working on an Incubation/Maturation room, slowly, but working on it.

ive got a vid going out soon, but essentially you need to pick it up (if you have issues picking it up, go out of render distance, then run back in as fast as possible, this will reset the entity for you and allow you to grab it) take it inside, surrond it in campfires (ac is better if you can make it, they finnally have a use) light and unlight fires as needed, the egg will say to hot, or to cold, if it gets to cold and all fires are lit, or to hot and all fires are unlit, pick it up for a bit, this will not reset incubation, but will prevent damage

Put it on the ground or wherever you want to keep it temp controlled. Suggest a small well AC'd room depending where you are based. Wait for it to hatch then let the frustration begin. GL

When heating babies, make sure the noti says incubating, knowing the weather for your baby will help alot with time.

how do you fertilize it? all i did was pick up the egg and try to place it down. i dont want to accidently eat it

You have your dinos hold hands then when there done she will drop a egg you can tell its a baby dino egg as it has the alpha glow coming off it.

I went with the raptor and put it infront on a ac unit and worked a treat didnt get too hot or too cold n out popped a 110 baby raptor

You have to mate a female and male dino by enabling wandering on them. When they are done mating you'll get a fertilized egg.

do you need them to be in a building / mating area? or does it work just wondering around the base?
also, how long does it usualy take for an egg?

also does anyone know or have a list of all the dino's than can mate / make an egg?
J4ffa Oct 22, 2015 @ 12:16am
yeah you need them in a pen they need to stay close to each other so for the smaller dinos small pen and so on.

Then takes say 5-10 min for the mating to happen then you get the egg then you spend the next 5+ min trying to find the area with the correct temp and once its at the right temp then can take couple hrs maybe more for the egg to hatch and then a while for the baby to grow up.

But before you do all that make sure you have enough meat to keep it fed i started using cooked meat / jerky lasts longer on the baby..

Give this a read it says what dino can breed and best way..
