Breeding for no eggs?

I was breeding a couple of my raptors and the mating bar was going up. I looked at another window on my computer and came back to ark in less than 2 minutes. There was no egg at all and my female raptor had the timer on her to wait until she could mate again. I waited and then mated my raptors again. This time I watched the whole process and when they finally finished no egg dropped. Is it just a chance that fertilized eggs will drop or is something wrong with the breeding process?

I have a pen built with bare ground under them. Sorry forgot to mention that.

Just tested got an egg fine with my raptors, hatched it and raising new baby raptor.

yea I tried again and on the 3rd attempt it gave me an egg. I already have it raised up to juvenile now. Maybe it's based on chance.

There is an issue where if the female is slightly under the terrain, the egg is laid under the terrain and you cannot get it.

Yeah, they lay eggs after each... mating session. My stego lays fertilized eggs no problem. This sounds like it was a glitch.
