Impossible to knock an Argentavis unconcious?
It is literally impossible to knock an argi unconcious. Tried taming 3 116lv ones. With a crossbow, they die in literally 3-4 shots. With a scorpi, i wait 10 seconds after each hit and it still dies.. Any tips?

Use primitive crossbow. Go for body shots. Or use tranq darts.

You can use a slingshot too.... I wouldn't though. Wait longer than 3-4s so that they can regen health. You might need to kite it into a building to tame.

Frogs work WONDERS for taming. A lot less damage than scorpions and a lot more torpor/hit. Same time of 10s. Frogs have a lot less durability, however.

Yeah i had this problem... Stay away from the head (don't shoot them in it i mean)... From what I've seen they seem to take the least damage in their feet.

Tranq darts will work.

If you don't have any, you can feed the argentavis back to full healh.

Shoot it a couple times until it starts bleeding then kill any dino next to it, the argent will eat it and heal back to full then you can start shooting again.

Actually aiming for the head with a good crossbow is better, kill something and get the argentavis you want to tame to eat what you killed, then stand back and shoot in the face 2-3 times and its out. *You have to wait 5 seconds, i wait until the crossbow has reloded then count to ten fast and that goes a litle above 5 seconds*

My favorite wait time is 10s, especially on flyers. I tend to use a regular bow or primi.crossbow with tranq arrows. Body-shots only.

If you're using a crossbow, you're using tranq arrows not tranq darts. Darts are fired from a long rifle and crafted at a smithy.

the topor stacks so you can shoot it a few times then wait 8 sec and it the topor should catch up. if you are having an issue trancing argens use the darts they do was less damage for the topor they give.

The bird will always end up close to death when it is knowcked out. Its a fine line. I find a regular bow to be the best, with a higher melee dmg. It may take a little time, but make sure you wait the 10-12 secs before the next shot. And make sure you have a lot of arrow, as a high bird will take a bit.

Why did you just quote all the obvious/bad advice posts and ignored my post which contains the best way to tame any argentavis with any kind of weapon?

Just use a Primitive Bow and wait some seconds between shots.
