Then they're too short. Proper UI design should account for user distraction, give time for alerts to be read even under poor circumstances.
I've had this happen a couple times as well, just a brief message at the top, of the screen for a split second,.
The other day I spent almost an hour searching for one of my direwolves that got lost going through some rough terrain. Never did find him and I was left wondering if it's still out there somewhere or if he died and I missed the death message.
Was just going to respond with this, yeah it would be very helpful. Also some people take longer to load into game than others, which means death notices for dinos while you were offline can easily be completely missed.
+1
It annoys me that i don't know who did it. I will be prepared for the next time but it's not the same. A notification log would be awesome.
They desperately need a notification log - both for those quick kill messages, and so we don't get killed by dossiers in combat. Just flash an icon at me, let me go read it whenever.
This. Also, I can miss when friends log on if I'm doing something else and not realize it until I check the Admin Manager.
EDIT: They are brothers. Muhahaha. No one's save these days ]:>
Did I mention that we've been asking for this since the game was released?.... yeah... >__>
