Kill notifications too short?! WE NEED A NOTIFICATION LOG
My female Plesio got killed like 30 minutes ago. It was stored with another Plesio and 2 Megalodons in my harbor sorounded by stone walls. I got a short notification about something including the word Plesiosaur. As soon as i looked at the top screen the notification was already gone. All i could read was "Plesiosaur". 10 minutes later i went to my harbor and realized my Plesio got killed and one Megalodon was unconscious. I searched the whole area with an Argentavis but couldn't find someone. Also, a standing torch on my raft, as well as a storage box (an emtpy one) were gone and my bed on the raft was missing like 10 health.

Pretty obvious that it was another player (or not?) but i couldn't read who because the notification was gone so fast or i didn't see it early enough.

Is there any way to see that notification again? It bugs me cause i wanna go on a killing spree. Just too bad i don't know who to kill :)

I don't think they're too short... It's just easy to be doing something important at the same time it comes up.

Then they're too short. Proper UI design should account for user distraction, give time for alerts to be read even under poor circumstances.

He's right, sometimes the notices are fine, other times they absolutely streak by in a blink of an eye, the timing is inconsistent.

I've had this happen a couple times as well, just a brief message at the top, of the screen for a split second,.

I wish they had a notification log, tbh.

The other day I spent almost an hour searching for one of my direwolves that got lost going through some rough terrain. Never did find him and I was left wondering if it's still out there somewhere or if he died and I missed the death message.

Was just going to respond with this, yeah it would be very helpful. Also some people take longer to load into game than others, which means death notices for dinos while you were offline can easily be completely missed.

It annoys me that i don't know who did it. I will be prepared for the next time but it's not the same. A notification log would be awesome.

They desperately need a notification log - both for those quick kill messages, and so we don't get killed by dossiers in combat. Just flash an icon at me, let me go read it whenever.

This. Also, I can miss when friends log on if I'm doing something else and not realize it until I check the Admin Manager.

A notification log is such a basic thing. I never considered there wasn't one until I needed to have a look through it.

Yeah, logs are not exactly rocket surgey, and are often very helpful. One of the first things I include in any system I design are logs and audit trails. Both have been useful in diagnosing issues and in being able to prove if something did or did not happen.

I found out which 2 players were online the time it happened. Gametracker ftw. Still, don't know which one of them and i shouldn't need to use anything else than the game itself to find out...

EDIT: They are brothers. Muhahaha. No one's save these days ]:>

Let's hope the devs see this and do something about it. I don't think it's intended this way. Just poorly executed.

Would be cool under the tribe tab to have a log of deaths/tamings/stucture placement etc...

Did I mention that we've been asking for this since the game was released?.... yeah... >__>

:/ Like Trent said, a notification log is such a basic thing and should have been implemented in the beginning. Required for any PVP game imo

Notification log in game, and admins need a detailed activity log - A placed Z, B delivered 150hp to X with weapon T, etc.
