Yes when they are babies, you need to hand feed them. There is no getting around this.

However, once they get to Juvenile they can eat from troughs. Each trough will last 20-35 minutes for meat. IF YOU ARE THERE. However, if you leave the area or log out, they eat significantly less.

I went to bed with my Juvenile Rex, left it 10 troughs of cooked meat. Woke up 8 hours later and only 2 of the 10 troughs were empty. The rest were just spoilage losses. So if you can't keep up in meat, go away and get them into stasis.

People are saying OMG I farmed meat for 20 hours and can't sleep. You made the problem, fill the troughs, go to sleep, go away. You don't need nearly as much meat.

How many food/time took you to get it to Juvenile ?

Umm to Juvenile it was maybe about 8 hours. At 35 minutes a trough (what mine took) with raw meat that would be about 16 troughs, if I stayed near it the whole time. That would be about 19k Meat. However, I didn't stay near it the whole time, It was probably closer to 10 troughs, so 12k Meat.

However, with the recent patch you will need to stay near it the whole time. But that time is almost cut in half. I would say it will probably take maybe 5k meat to get through the Baby phase now and 4 hours.

I'm fine with that, this Rex will be insane. Max Health, Weight, and Melee, and about 80% of Max stam. Base level 187.

got one lvl 146 here, noticed since last patch we can let them " starve " as they got ' many ' food

Is it good or bad to starve them ... ? that's my real question

I doesn't seem to have any affect on them. As long as their health does not get so low that they died.

Nice, now feed the troughs, and leave it alone. Log out and take a break. Not sure on your tribe status, but if people are around, then they need to help feed. Preferably, nobody else is there.
