Level 151 Baby Spino
Hey guys!

So I decided to incubate my eggs last night and wait until this morning to let my first egg hatch because LUCKILY I have the day off from work and enough time (so I thought) to sink into this whole new breeding fun. My baby spino hatched this morning around 10:00 AM and what do ya know, it's adorable!! It inherited the best genes from both of the parents and I'm all AWW look at the cute little BB! I'm so excited and happy to see the devs released a patch and the whole maturing process should go by smoothly now, right??

Here I am 7 hours later with the now Juvenile Spino:

Also let me mention that I'm doing the whole starving method and waiting until about 50 food to feed yet again a couple more stacks to get the food level back up to 2k+ (my spinos current soft cap). It takes about 30 minutes for my spino baby(juvenile) to get to about 50 food in between the feedings. Also I'm not sure if everyone is aware that the troughs do not work if you decide to fill them until they are completely full. You cannot just fill the troughs completely and leave. The "Juvenile" still acts as if its starving and eats all of the meat until there is none left, meaning it basically keeps eating every -1 food. While THEY DO work if you decide to put the couple of stacks that your dino needs for its cap in the trough, it will go to its highest available soft cap and fluctuate a bit and basically just keep starving. If anyone else is going through this suffering along with me right now, I know how you feel. THIS IS TORTURE I TELL YOU!! I've calculated how long my babies maturing process will take and that is about 35 hours. I have roughly 28 more hours to go in REAL TIME and tomorrow night at 9:00 eastern is around the exact time it should be completed.

I could definitely do the 35 hours if I didn't have to feed my baby spino a couple stacks of meat every 30 minutes. I think it's absolutely insane that we have to spend 35 hours of RL time in game because the trough system is not working and the babies do not have a food cap where they eventually begin to eat normally like regular tamed dinos. The baby continues to think it's starving and keeps eating even after reaching it's fluctuating soft cap.

I never come to these discussion boards and post anything, ever. I'm usually just a lurker. I've been so excited for the breeding ever since the release of eggs and it was always something I'd hoped for and finally it's happening! The devs have done a wonderful job with the game so this isn't against them at all. I'm only posting this in hopes they are aware of the problem.

I'm still feeding my Spino in hopes of an upcoming patch where the troughs will be fixed so I am able to leave my baby in my dino pen with a trough and go on to do normal real life things. There is no way I will ever be able to stay up a full 35 hours just for some pixels and trust me, I love my pixels!

Please Devs!!! Look into this issue!

This is how you give feedback to devs. Politely, well thought out, and thoroughly explained.

I was really excited for breeding and I was hoping we'd get to spend more time enjoying the cuteness of the baby dinos but you don't really get to enjoy it when you're glued to their inventory feeding them every few seconds for hours on end. I have prime meated max level dinos on numerous occasions as well as raw primed them before I was capable and it was a breath of fresh air to finally reach the stage where I can kibble tame max level dinos. I do love the idea of breeding and feel that yes, it should be difficult and time consuming but no one..no one can sit and watch these babies for like 15-30 hours endlessly to keep them alive nor should anyone be expected to. I really hope the devs look into this and fix this even if it takes real life days for a dinosaur to mature i rather do a few hours a day than sink in 5-6 hours incubating, 20+ hand feeding and then still risk it dying.

Think of people who have work, school, jobs, kids or hell what if someone ends up having a crappy connection and gets disconnected? Poof goes all those hours.

TDLR: I love the idea of breeding, wish we could enjoy the baby phase longer. I want it to be difficult/hard/time consuming but there needs to be some sort of way to 'pause' raising them so we can have lives outside of the game and return when able and go back to handfeeding them rather than behing held hostage hand feeding them for 20+ hours.

+1000000000000000000 helps to save a starving baby dinos life

Starting to wonder if the Devs even tested this on a server running official settings. Or are they really that out of touch that they felt that the current mechanic was good.

I read a thread somewhere and I think Drake? posted saying he had already tested it 4 times and breeding was working as intended. He also stated... It Was Fun. LOL

There we go! My mistake, but yes that's the one.

This is why I am holding off breeding until it gets fixed. And I have faith that it will be, soon enough. But I also understand that game developers are not robots, they're human. They need to rest and breathe in order to stay healthy. I'm sure this whole update has taken so much out of them that they just have nothing left as of right now. If we just let them rest up a bit, I'm sure they'll get right to it.

Congrats on the high level baby Spino, m8

I agree with you on this and I'm going to hold off with my other eggs until this issue is resolved, but until then I'm left with the decision to either kill off my current baby or wait a couple of more hours to see if they release an update to fix it. My poor wittle spino, she had a good run though!
