Egg too cold
Hi, so i have a Trex egg that was produced by my Trexs in the north, nothing i could do up there would stop it from being too cold (i.e. place next to fire, air con, standing torch, etc). So i bought it down to the south and am having the same problem, as a character i need to cool off but the egg is still saying too cold...Anyone know how to fix this one?

ACs and fires are your best friend. Too hot? ACs. Too cold? Bring it to a grill and let it sit there. Still too hot or too cold? Time to get creative.

So i have it literally sitting on top of a fire, would adding more fires help do you think?

I had the same problem with my spino. There is no way to get it any higher then 20 degrees ( on my end at least and i had 5 fires and 7 ACs going) Eventually i had to pick it up and move it to the Oasis at my friends base. It's 80 degrees (with 2 ACs and 2 fires) there and funny enough it sped up the incubating time. So if your going to breed, then take the eggs and move them to a place that is much warmer, they just will not survive in the snow.

EDIT: my temp is based on fahrenheit fyi / also i just read that you brought it down south ( i didn't read that part lol ) i would suggest taking it to the Oasis if you can, if not definitely use fires/torches to keep it warm as many as you can in fact. Also any type of weather seems to affect the health too, so you should most definitely keep it indoors.

Trex egg requires at least 27°C indoor, 30°C outdoor without any fire or AC. Check the temperature first when the egg says too cold. If it's like 20°C or below, a single standing torch or campfire won't help, stacking up multiple standing torch is recommended.

For human, without any fort the system will remind you to cooldown when it's around 28°C(with leather set, will be lower if you have better armor), which is not enough for the trex egg, that's probably why when you bring it to south of the map it still says too cold.

My rex eggs were fine at 16°c, location is the spot on the westcoast ice biome border (the beach with the big a$ rock and the alpha spawn point at it), they were in a wooden building with partly stone floor, lighted 3 standing torches up, sometimes the temps changed and i needed to adjust the count of lit torches.

>.< I said "27°C indoor, 30°C outdoor without any fire or AC" ...ofc you can still hatch in a cold place if you have enough fire going on.

8 camp fires and it finally started to incubate, but in 1 hour that incub meter have not moved, still fully yellow, the egg will spoil way before it is hatched

wait, now it is too cold with 8 camp fires and 1 torch lol wtf ?, cant fit anymore in the heat range
Belnick Oct 16, 2015 @ 2:27pm
well it is an alpha game so that is why it does not work yet :P

I have a base in the north (around the mouth of river, by dead island) and have had little to no problems incubating Rex eggs. I had 5-6 ac units surrounding a 3x3 indoor stone space, with 3 campfires (and the eggs) in the middle. At night when it rained I would get around 16°C without losing incubation, during the day I'd shut off the fires as needed)

Some things to keep in mind about AC units, they have a limited radius of 2 squares or so (i think), and rather than regulating temperature they buff both your resistences to heat & cold.

yea ac does not work either, tried adding 10x10 and tossed egg on top, still too cold
start 12 fires, still to cold
