Egg Incubation Time for a Rex
Ok....first off I love Ark and that we now can hatch eggs.....

My Rex Egg has now been incubating at the correct temperature fo 30 minutes and is 10% done.

Do you seriously want us to babysit these eggs for 5hrs!!!! .....C'mon Devs this is just silly.

Just like taming lol. Did you expect to make 100 babies and raise an army every 15 mins? This is Ark...err I mean Hurry Up and Wait.

Well, the idea would be to leave and come back 4hr50m later.

Except that you need to monitor the temperature of these eggs. Getting up to go pee and coming back to find your egg half dead when you're 50% of the way done sucks.

honestly, I was hoping that we'd be able to learn an incubator type dealio.

Make tons of Air Conditioners, drop the egg in between them. There, now you can just go do whatever else you want to do instead of staying and watching an egg.

Unless you're playing on a primitive server in which case too bad, so sad.

With 8 ACs i haven't had any temperature issues on my Rex eggs in two hours.

Well, you need to guard it and protect it - part of the challenge - rather than just have 20 rexes within 5 minutes.

I'm using 1 AC with no problem....my gripe is the time it takes not the method.

Primitive servers don't have ACs though. We just have standing torch going, and when the eggs get hot, we turn the torch off. We've lost about 20 eggs now, due to not getting the temperatures right, but we love the challenge

Well if you don't have to watch it, it doesn't take any of your time.

When it does hatch I still need to feed it constantly for 1-2hrs? so I am expected to play ark for 6hrs to get my baby Rex?. Again it's not the method but the time needed to do these things, we all can't sit and play for 8hrs a day as much as I'd like to.

Of course not. Just make sure you have enough food in a feeding trough.

In multiple feeding troughs. Maybe 10 troughs completely full of meat will be enough for one baby rex.
Just a fair warning.
