ARK: Survival Evolved

Statistiche:
Everything Breeding/Incubation/Feeding/Tips
Currently Breedable:

Anky, Bronto, Dilo, Dodo, Parasaur, Pachy, Raptor, Rex, Sarco, Spino, Stego, Turtle

Wolves: but don't do anything (prolly first for testing live birth/no egg needed)

*mated two wolves, and nothing

Mating Process: Must enable wander on both male/female, they must stay near each other. you will see a mating bar on the female.

Methods:

1. Easiest way to mate them is to put them both on follow, then enable wander. Once this is done, then hit unfollow (U is default) and continue to spam this until they are done. This keeps them from moving.

2. create a small pen(depending on dino size, and stick them in it.

Patched Doesnt work 1. (easiest overall)Have two people sit on the dinos next to each other
Patched Donesnt work 2. Over Encumber the dinos, or Encumber 1 and sit on other

Incubated Eggs

A/C units are the way to go, the insulation is wonderful, 4 works wonders spread out a bit!

HUGE TIME SAVER/HELPER: You can place fertilized eggs in the fridge to continue at a later time, if you do not have time to watch it for 2-3 hours. So break it up in to increments if you like. (primitive server) Preservation bin works same way however ensure you have plenty of spark powder so it does not run out.

3 status indicators:

Incubating = Find perfect temperature, yellow bar dropping, when done will hatch and produce baby
Too Hot = Get in cool place/turn ac on, put in ac area
Too Cold = put camp fire/forge/grill next to egg or egg next to them to warm them up.

Air Conditioner seems to work wonders so far for the following eggs:

Dodo
Trike
Raptor

Primitive servers may want to take to caves, to keep cool and build fires/forges inside to control heat.

Does egg health affect stats? No proof so far.

Incubation time?

Cold/Hot issue/temps for each egg?

You can pick up eggs and move them, but must be on ground to incubate.

(temperature is in celcius)
(all are tested indoors)

Anky Eggs:
BAD: 7 / 24-30
GOOD: 17-23
next to AC unit: 17-28
(untested)
good: 13-21

Bronto Eggs:

Dilo Eggs:

Dodo Eggs:
So far both hatched dead

Para Eggs:

Pachy Eggs:

Raptor Eggs:
BAD: 30-38
Good: 17-29
next to AC unit: 17-37
(untested)
good: 14

Like warmer climate, A/C seems to work well so far.

Rex Eggs:

Sarco Eggs:

Spino Eggs:
GOOD: 25-33
next to AC unit: 21-39
BAD: -24 / 34+

Stego Eggs:

Turtle Eggs:

Hatched: You must feed them asap or they die!

Babies must be feed through their inventory, just place food in inventory, as he matures he can hold more and more in his inventory, once he leaves baby stage (after 10%), you can use trough to keep him fed, and can rely on it.

Raw Meat = Helps keep alive no bonus
Cooked Meat = Helps keep alive no bonus
Raw Prime Meat = Helps keep alive no bonus
Prime Cooked Meat = Helps keep alive no bonus
Cooked Meat Jerky = Helps keep alive no bonus
Prime Meat Jerky = Helps keep alive no bonus
Kibble = Helps keep alive no bonus

They have fixed the eating bug, so now you dont have to baby sit all day, just continue to ensure you have food for the growing dino.

may i just have a jurassic park moment in your thread, YOU BRED RAPTORS!!
Messaggio originale di hothnogg:
feed babies like you would tame and animal with its torpor, just keep it stocked up on food, wont take 1000s. i was feeding my baby 167 raptor and for a few mins i gave it couple 100 meat till i noticed i didnt have to and just let food drop and then toped up again. slowly the mature bar went up, but due to not knowing how long it would take in hours, took 2 hours for the raptor egg to hatch. I let it die as i dint have 2 to 4+ hours left to mature it.

This is faster than Quetzal torpor drop rate, you need a constant supply of meat, i think it will require 1-2 people farming meat constantly to maintain it.
2 troughs = 3hrs worth of keeping baby dino alive for the herbs
2 troughs = 40 min of keeping baby dino alive for the carno
Anyone else with this issue? My Bronto egg has a decompose timer, so I have to pick it up and drop it every 29 mins or it'll go poof.

Out of all my eggs that is the only one that has it.

rator was droping about 3 food every secound. with was pretty much same as a spinos torpor drop rate.
Maybe all breeds of baby dinos different drop rates?

Fun fact: putting the fertilised eggs in a fridge, does not reset the incubating progress, in fact, it simply pauses everything, and it is treated like any normal egg would(it basicly won't spoil, so if you don't have time to fully hatch the egg/don't have time to feed the baby dino, you can hatch it later by putting it in the fridge)

Can I get a confirmation on this? I JUST realized, with my baby raptors about to hatch, that I need more meat than what I have.
It works

I hope. Im bout to hatch my third dilo. F that. The other two starved in five seconds.
Spino is incubated between 28 and 34 temp. Put near an AC in a hot zone, seems to work at those temps alright. Ankylo is a cooler temp than that but not by much, like 15-26. I also tested pachy and bronto, all of which incubate within these temps, the AC in my base keeps it roughly 28-30 temp so it is good for all those. Incubation times on the other hand idk much since the eggs just disappear for some reason. They have good health and are incubating then just vanish if I move outside my base and go back inside. Seems pretty buggy atm but hopefully they fix it soon cause I had 2 spinos that shoulda hatched. Those took roughly 2.5 hours before they got to like 10% on incubation bar. That's when they just vanished.
Rex egg hatching so far 8'c requires 6torchs, 12'c 4torchs, 16'c 3torchs, 22'c 2torchs, 28'c 0torchs (Tested on offical, primitive, Craggs island zone.)
the best way i have done it was tamed as many females as i could find right now i have 20 ish. Then i tamed 4 males put them in the same pen then killed the males. the females ran to the dead males and mated. i have way to many eggs now lol
been baby sitting my rex egg for 5 hours now lol...lvl 84 dad and 140 mom...so well see how it goes i guess...its all good though i had the egg fall through the floor once so now im staying put till it hatches http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=535330522

I just had this happen with my Rex egg. had it on my stone floor next to my forges, all of the sudden it was in the floor behinds my forges. It popped out when i demolished my forge but i then disappeared again.

yeah it hasnt happened again, but i have not left its side since...crazy how long it takes but i love it anyway
Bronto Temp 75F is too cold 76F is OK was OK all the way to 86F didnt get hotter so not sure when its too hot. I would guess 90F would be OK and 91 would be too hot.Seemed like anything over 83 was better than keeping it near an AC unit, under that and AC unit seemed better hard to tell though as slow as it goes.
