Wander Mode
Is wander mode still glitched? Will your tamed animals still glitch through the walls and gates?

Seems to be, I've got a Dodo and Dilo pen set up, And just a minute ago had to round up all my dilos..... Gonna try surrounding the pins with spiked fences.... see if that at least prevents escape til a patch fixes it.

Just to update after a few hours of testing, Placing spiked walls around the outside of my small-dino pens apparently was enough to stop the escapes. Added about 6 hours of play time since the above post, and had 0 escapes. Using simple wooden fences, and they're about 2x the size of normal walls, so it doesn't take a lot of effort to put them up.

Added bonus, Prevents my dodo's from getting attacked by wandering raptors....

Thank you. I have had some of mine on wander and they have not yet escaped. Didnt put the spiked walls behind my wood walls.

yes, they will can still glitch out. I have a 3x4 dodo pen set up, and about once a day or so one of them will be found wondering around outside the pen.

6 hours isn't much to prove it works, imo. I have only had one get out twice in about 48 hours or so..

Yes, the wander mode is still glitched to where tamed animals keep glitching through your walls. It's very annoying and I hope the devs at least know of this issue and decide to fix it, though from old threads that I've seen mentioning this same problem, I'm not too sure if they will anytime soon.

I've never had a Dodo glitch through my walls, and I have 98 Dodos. I have both wood and stone walls.

I think its when you leave the area and they are near a wall, then when you come back they render in before the walls. I personally don't use the wander feature because they ALWAYS seem to path themselves between my other parked dinos. They can have all the room they need around them but they'll head straight for the nearest dinos and get stuck between them. It's almost like basic dino AI forces them to migrate close to players and their dinos by default.

Wild dinos do it all. the. time. It's rather annoying.

You've been lucky then. I went for 2 days without it happening, then I log on this morning and one is wandering around outside the pen. I lock him up, then go on a wood chopping expedition, come back about a 1/2 hour later and 2 hens are outside of the pen wandering around. This is with only 8 dodo's in a 3x4 pen.

So far i have had mine on wander for about 1 day worth of game play now and they have not got out. My walls though are as high as the behemoth gate so i dont know if that make a difference. They are jsut wood walls as well.

Don't use thatch floor or ceilings as floors as they are extremely buggy, wood seems to be fine.

it's just ground with fence foundations and walls put up since there are no fences in the game...

I did have rails up for a little while, and they seemed to work well keeping the dodo's in, until I tried to put the babies in and they just wandered right on out under the railing.. And the trikes kept walking over the rail and then would pretend to get stuck in there and trample all over the poor dodo's... So the walls went back up.
