Sniper rifle
Anyone else severely disappointed with it?
It follows suit with the huge clip, REALLY low damage formula again and we can't even use the new tranq darts in it.

the damage from the new snip rly sux.. better ammo and still lower dmg? nrly think that 6 shots from the new one = 1 shot from Logneck...
And for this low dmg the repair is rly high.. another useless wep for my storage ^^
Like the uber expensive Metal Bow...

that uber expensive bow is only supposed to be used with metal arrows.

yeah I know that... still too expensive

As long as the dps is higher it would be an appropriate design. Every automatic weapon in the game has lower damage per round but higher dps. The sniper rifle is basically an automatic.

At least it has a built in scope so we can actually dye it and use it with other semi-useless attachments. Guess that's what we get for expecting something to at least be on par with the longneck rifle.

Edit: the dps isn't high enough to justify the cost of making the gun AND the huge durability loss from just firing a single round. It took me 26 shots to take out a lvl 12 rex.

OUCH

Sounds like another thing that is intended for PvP while leaving PvE players in the jungle without a loin cloth.

Like other guns, it's meant to be faster firing than any other bows. You pump out more damage over time then a bow will. The downside is no repair in the field.

Guns aren't meant to take down dinos. That's why you have three different bows in the game. Four different melee weapons with more on the way.

wait so you want to use a pvp item, to kill dinos, the game is dedicated to pvp mostly, pve is an after thought it seems, im sure we will get something for pve eventually, the canvas was a nice thought towards pve

PvE is getting a sword and shield. They just got a club not long ago and they're alreading complaining. Before that they got a crossbow and a metal bow. They're never going to be happy.

Is it too much to ask that we get a firearm that can actually do decent against a dino? Personally, I don't like the thought of having to get up close and personal with the spinos that keep terrorizing my base, and the crossbow and metal bow are really no good for anything but standing off enough to prolong your life a few seconds.

So it's too much to ask for an item to be useful in pvp AND pve? The longneck rifle does just fine. so good in fact that it completely eclipses the sniper rifle. One headshot can take out a person from it, while the new sniper rifle takes more like 5 to do the same amount of damage.

Compound Bow is a PvP item, torpor isnt even as good as a crossbow. The Crossbow was an amazing addition, but the club is melee so not that great for endgame tames.

The new tranq darts give me about ~75 torpor on a JMan Longneck, as opposed to about ~66 on my MC crossbow. That means that while the new darts are a bit better, theyre much, much more costly (not to mention the repair costs of a longneck rifle of that caliber - the darts blow through durability QUICKLY). Ill probably be sticking with the crossbow for a while.

Does someone have dirt on the sword and shield? I cant think of any practical use for them in terms of PvE.

actually they didnt want pvp servers, pvp was an afterthought of the game not pve.... but as usual with this stuff pve will get pushed to the back burner since the pvpers complain so much because as we know stuff that works in pve doesnt always equate to pvp.
