I have a small base in the snow biome but it isn't my primary base. I mainly did it to keep my wolves and deers there safely and because it is kind of a cool area.
We have a base in snow biome (still main building to be rebuilt) because of the nice location, lots of ressources of all kind around, water pen is in progress including walk way down the cliffs. Big bird pen was already rebuilt. It's just a gorgerous landscape there. Still, although now covered with snow.
Regarding brightness -> press tab and type

Cheers
The atmosphere of the swamp has completely revitalized my desire to build decoratively.
Plus, we got pushed out of our old home with the -1648267471 degrees temperatures.
Nothing more annoying than listening to "BBRRUUUHH HUUUUU BRRRRR!!! HOOOOUUUU!" every 15 seconds as you permanently freeze to death.
lives in it, heh....no....out past my front porch, sure.
My base is also right across the water from whereall the carnivores spawn on the beach now. But since AI is retarded I had the easiest 120 rex tame ever, the hardest part was getting across the water to it while killing piranhas. feeding it was stupidly easy because i just killed the nearest prime meat giver on my ptera.
This place is great.
It's the super-agressive dragonflies and the groups of 6+ mate boosted Dimorphodons hiding in the trees that get in my way the most.
Not to mention the over-population of Paracers that make it their goal in life to head STRAIGHT for my base simply to tear down all my decorative trees. Bloody trolls!
Man... I love the swamp. :)
