Auto run/fly
What does everyone think about an auto run/fly button?

If I'm travelling long distances, on my bird especially, my finger cramps. More than once I've accidentally pressed the E button and dismounted when my finger twitched. I know people who jam the W key down but unfortunately when I try to do that the E key ends up being caught as well, again dismounting me.

So any thoughts, is it a good idea or not?

Toothpick.

But yep. Been asked for 100 times. No news yet. I run a battery kb, 3 sets since I started playing this, 800 hrs.

I did the dismount thing from a great height, not one of my better moves so I am in favour of anything that sets forward motion on auto. I'd like the ability to look left and right without heading in those directions too.

You can. Use K for the camera mode.

Thanks, have to give that a go

I use K a lot if I have anything following me so I can check to make sure it's still there. I tried the toothpick idea ended up dismounting ^^ parachutes are a great invention lol. I wonder if I could use a toothpick on the Q side with no ill effects.

I'm a bit of a noob with computers, could someone tell me how I would go about getting a program to hold the W key down? Is it just a google search and download or do I need to actually understand what I'm doing. If I need to understand it I'll get hubby to sort it out when he gets home lol.

Of course, not everyone has the same hardware as I have, but I have managed to set up macros on my keyboard... I can literally press the button when I am flying back from metal mountain, aim in the right direction, then go have a cigarette, make a sandwich, grab a drink, come back and regain control of the bird... or check my phone etc.. I am positive there is software available free online that you would be able to set up something like this...

I do the same for eating, set a macro up so i press the button once then he will eat 100 berries, or press another key once and he will gather things as i run around...

I use Razor products, so i set that up within their software

tripple tap right shift and it toggles run speed and walk or duble tap cant remember what one but thats what i use , you only need to hold W down then and fly/run/swim at full speed ;)

That's great thank you very much for the replies :) I think I'll get hubby to sort me out a macro I can bind to one of the unused buttons on my mouse :D

yea. i got macro keys on my keyboard so i have a super left click for eating berries i got slow/fast left click for spaming stims on my pop machines...i got a macro for spamming E i got a macro for holding W and a seperate macro for holding SHIFT. but a word to the wise the holding W macro will mess you up big time if you try to use the normal movement keys.

I jam a coin between my W key and go for a smoke or grab a drink.

+1k

I've died many times jumping off by accident

When flying on an Argent which is fairly slow, I have a rolled up piece of paper to jam the key down.

An autorun would be a great asset to this game on long trips by air. Even on foot along the beach, it would help a lot because my finger starts to ache.

Parachutes save my ass all the time, never leave home without one.
