[HELP] Differences in launch mode, normal vs extremely low memory
Ok so i've trying browsing around and all the threads i've seen about this topic are usually old and dealing with the "no sound" mode.
What I wanna know is what is the in-game differences between Normal, Low, and Extremely Low memory mode.

I was forced to lauch ELM today because i kept timing out when connecting (which happens but not usually more the once in a row) and I noticed the game an significantly better for me and visually I didnt really notice a difference. ( I have pretty much all my settings on low)
The only different thing i saw was that when i broke a resource or structure, it just disappeared rather then exploding.
So what I want to know is, what other differences would I notice if I switch to the low memory modes??

I'm not sure anyone but a dev could 'accurately' answer this. As I am sure it involves a lot of modifications of how the game displays/loads much of which may or may not occur in the background and not be easily detectable. That being said, try it out, if you find something new that you don't like, revert. :)

You also lose some of the "ambiance" of the game...the sun's reflection (and the glare) off the water, for instance...in fact, if I am not mistaken, on extremely low mem, they take the sun outa the sky altogether.

It depends what you like...I am more into performance in this kind of game, because lag, desynch and low FPS rates can literally get your character killed, but the more powerful your machine, the more pretty bells and whistles you can have. You want the game to look like a Jurassic Park movie, or do you want 40 FPS... I prefer the latter, but the you gotta give the devs credit, on a good machine, on epic settings, the game is freaking beautiful...

thats good to know. and yea, i love how the game looks, even on the low settings its still really pretty. but i think i'm gonna stick to the lower memory options simply because I'm tired of my computer locking up when i try to watch a video on my other monitor to do grindy stuff like resource collecting.
I do plan to upgrade my computer when I can but thats not something I think will happen too soon. I plan to upgrade my video card, which might cause me to need to upgrade the power supply, and since this game uses a ton of my processing i might also upgrade the processors
