Ammmm.... yep, doesnt seem logical...
So, doedicurus and pachy cannot gather berries....
Herbivores... that cant gather berries. Their food. What they eat. How do they survive???
Seriously, yes some of you might say gather berries, feed em yourself and shut up, but it just bothers me that the pachy can gather wood but cant gather berries...
I dont know if there are other animals that cant gather what they eat, its just these two ive come accross. I first thought it was a bug, but it seems to be intended?
Is it some strange attempt at balance? doesnt make sense.
The doedi i could understand, they are sturdy and valuable for rock gathering and stuff, but the pachy? little health, little weight carrying, AND cant gather its own food?

The way I make sense of it is, their attacks smush the berries- so they can't gather them.
Where as if they were to eat the berries, they'd just eat them off the plant rather than attack it.

I would rather not have another gathering herbivore where I have to delete its inventory 5 times while gathering the main resource that I tamed it to collect. Or at least adjust and greatly lower the secondary material quantities that it gathers.

What do you mean the Doed doesn't collect berries? Are my eyes broken because I thought my Doed was collecting berries.

Any time I've used a Deod the only resource it's collected was stone. No flint, no metal, no berries.

^ My thoughts too. I really hope they don't add berry gathering to every herbivore as that would decrease the utility of a lot of them. The Megaloceros is currently a fantastic thatch farmer, and if it ever gathers berries it will be of no use to me.

Do you really want to be dropping berries off your herbivore EVERY time you go farming? Just use a trike or giganto to get your quick berry fix. This feature is a blessing, not a curse.

Yeah, they are really good. Put them in stew. Craft them into a soup. Fry em. And the dinos love them! Though i have been wondering for a while...... why are my dinos not pooping recently?

I think every creature should be able to gather its own food. It doesnt need to be much, but it needs to be something. If that would be the case, I could farm with my Megaloceros some berries in the snow biome. I dont want to farm its food with my hand.

Oh god no.

This. Sooooo much this. I already have a hard enough time with the mammoth when gathering wood, and when I use my triceratops to gather thatch. It's tedious, to say the least.

I guess I just never noticed that Crash WASN'T collecting berries... Those rocks sure were delicious though, are you sure they weren't berries? XD

They eat the moss on all the rocks.
