How To Increase Level Cap And Taming Multiplier(SINGLEPLAYER/MULTIPLAYER]
Well, this is my quick tutorial for messing around with taming multiplier(also xp and harvest/wahtever) as well as level cap. This is aimed towards singleplayer, but it works I am including instructions for server too.
Taming/XP/Harvest Multiplier
  • First, you want to navigate to the folder in which the you will find GameUserSettings.ini. For singleplayer, it should be (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\)ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor. For multiplayer, it should be found at (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\)ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsServer. The parentheses are around the steam game directory, which will be on different places. For some people, it is found in C:\Program Files\ instead of C:\Program Files (x86).

  • Then you want to open this in the text editor of your choice(I personally use Notepad++).
  • Now, you want to find the options you want to change, or, if they're not there, you want to make them under [ServerSettings].
Here are a few of them:
    Taming Multiplier: TamingSpeedMultiplier
    XP Multiplier: XPMultiplier
    Harvest Multiplier: HarvestAmountMultiplier
  • Now you want to set the values.
If they are already listed, you just change the number that is listed.
    EX: TamingSpeedMultiplier=3.000000 --> TamingSpeedMultiplier=25.000000
If they are not listed, you want to make them in the same format as shown above.
    EX: TamingSpeedMultiplier=25.000000
    EX: XPMultiplier=50.000000

  • Now save the document(obviously)
  • Now, for singleplayer(I'm not sure about multiplayer), you want to make this ini read only so that the game won't reset the vaules to 3.0. To do this, right click GameUserSettings.ini, click properties, and check the box that says Read-Only.

  • Ta-da! You're done.
Increasing Level Cap
Now, this part is a little bit trickier sometimes, but it should be relatively easy.
This is an automated and less accurate version of the method found here[arksurvivalevolved.gamewalkthrough-universe.com].
The following is for WINDOWS only; use the above format if you are not on Windows.
  • First off, you want to go get the program( I made that automates the process of making a Game.ini(The program is located here[sourceforge.net])
  • Open it
  • It should ask you for the level cap and engram points per level per fourth of your level cap(EX: Levels 1 - 25 the player gets 5 engram points for level 1, then 5 for level 2, then 5 for level 3... etc)
    http://imgur.com/Pbwa8DU.png
    Just enter the info.

  • Then the program should close and produce a Game.ini after you enter the information.

It should look something like this:

*****You definitely want to go to this website[arksurvivalevolved.gamewalkthrough-universe.com] to proofread, make some editing(as you choose, and smooth out the first 10th of your leveling.
The first tenth of your level cap will be really close together, so you might want to space the xp required for each level out. The XP listed after the = is the total XP; not the XP after the XP required for the previous level.*****
  • Now you want to put this Game.ini into the same folder you were in that is listed in the taming/xp tutorial (ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor for SP; ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsServer for MP), and it should work.

    Thanks for reading.

I understand the general concept and great guide but the only question i have is, if the xpmultiplier/taming/harvest don't exist, where do i create them?. In the GameUserSettings.ini do i create them under the heading [/script/shootergame.shootergameusersettings], [ScalabilityGroups], [SessionSettings], [/script/engine.gamesession] or do i put it under [ServerSettings]? (note i want to play it in single player)

Ahh sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, you should save it under [ServerSettings]. As far as I know, the multiplayer config stays in WindowsServer while SP stays in WindowsNoEditor, and they are the same format just for SP and MP.
