Ive spent the last 2 days at least 4 hours each day flying over all the mountains and in between trying to find just one but on my server there seems to be none in game is this dossier suppose to be this rare? or is there a glitch that causes them to no spawn at all? Please help!

I think they are rare. I heard the best spot for it is the volcano area. Suppose to be the spawn place for them.

if you dont use the destroywilddinos command then it takes a really long time for new creatures to spawn in. i didnt see my first gigantopithecus until 3 weeks after it was released, ever since then i wipe all the dinos so everything can spawn in fresh and balanced. btw it seems the quetz arent just limited to the northern peaks, i have several bases in the south and i walked out of my house on herby island to find a quetz flying over the ocean. they may spawn near mountains but they seem to get all over the map after a while.

They're super rare spawns, seems to be only 2 at most on the map at any one time. I admin a private server, and even using the spawn weight settings, I'm unable to get them to spawn more frequently. They are also ridiculously difficult to render unconscious due to their obscene torpor recovery (it's around 15-16 torpor per second while they're conscious) making it imperative that you constantly keep them gaining torpor. It takes around 2 seconds for an arrow or tranq dart torpor to have taken full effect, and around 30 seconds for the quetzal to fully recover from a fairly high quality (mastercraft 212% damage) crossbow, and that's assuming it was a headshot. A headshot from my journeyman longrifle (192% damage) does around 1700 torpor. So it seems the best method for taking down a high level quetz would be to ride shotgun on a friend's quetz and keep firing tranq darts relentlessly, and hope that server desync/latency doesn't cause you to miss too many times.

Agreed, I wiped all wild dinos, now that they are all respawned i finally see them fly around.
